Default Decided to mini-tub the car for the 29.5x10.5 ET Drags.

Well after much research and help from members here on the board, I decided to go ahead and mini-tub. Better safe than sorry. Plus, if the tires end up not fitting, then that will set me back even further. I'm so ready to finish this car and go race. I hope to be out on Friday. Anyhow, this job isn't so bad, just a little time consuming. Think god for a Sawzall. I had to remove the arm rest brackets in the backseat before I got started and that was a bit involved because there's tons of spot welds. Anyhow, I know it was a bit difficult for me to understand the pics I found researching this section because they were only pics of finished jobs. So I want to share the pics I have and hopefully it will do someone good in the future.

Well, went to go snap the pics and the lighting isnt that great, so I'll have pics for you guys tomorrow.

will the back seat and all the panels go back in afterwards? how much extra room is earned for doing this?

The seat will not go back in as I have a Wolfe chromoly 6 point roll bar in the car. The panels...I'm sure they could go back in, but I'll probably leave them out. I'm just waiting on sunlight so that I can snap those shots.

I got to give you credit Jeremy. You sure did jump in there and take the bull by the horns and get the mini tub started. I think you made the right decision.

I haven't started mine yet.

Pics would be great. Thanks.

Here are some pics. Lighting is ok, the sun just isn't in the right spot yet. I'll take some later.

Nice pics. Could you take a shot of each side with the hatch open? Just a rear to front view of each side? Then open up each door and take a pic from front to rear on each side? I would appriciate it.
Thanks

I still think you do not need a 29in tire for your setup. way too much tire.

Well its what I need for a 4.56 gear. I'd run out of motor with a 4.56 and 28" slick.

Won't happen with a stock bottom end motor. The only thing I've touched was the rod bolts. Threw a set of Katechs in it. Where did you get number 7400 from?

you could spin it that high with just rod bolts. there are plenty of people that do. 7000-7400 is what the majority of people with larger cams like the TREX and LG grinds spin to. seems to be the sweet spot for them.
