LCA and relocation bracket. go with the lowest setting reguardless of being lowered or stock height.

tires, convertor, and lca/relocation brackets are the ticket.

that and seat time.

A torque arm plays a very important part also in traction and the way you launch.

Hope that helps!

wow i disagree with a bunch of this!

i went 1.53 consistently in a heavy car with stock tq arm, stock panhard rod (explain how that effects drag launches), stock shocks, and lowering springs! a couple hundred 1.5-1.6 60' times actually.

i did have LCA (non adjustable) and relocation brackets.

Well I'd say it's probably the difference between you cutting 1.5 60's and me cutting 1.3 60's.

Could you please be a little more specific. I have always wondered the same thing. especially the panhard. The torque arm has been debated many times before and has its pros and cons of each side, but the panhard has never been explained.

One of the best things you can do (if not the best) to improve your 60 fts is WEIGHT REDUCTION. It is the bet mod i have EVER done to my car.

The pan hard rod allows you to center the rear end in between the wheel wells. To me it's a basic requirement of getting the basic symetry of the suspension aligned properly. Pinion angle also plays a large part in your 60ft which is where the adjustable torque arm comes into play along with the instant center. Every little thing that is out of spec adds up to slower 60's. BTW, I forgot to mention a rear sway bar in mix of suspension parts.

to add to what others have said, not only is having the right converter the ticket, you have to know how to launch right on it. Weight reduction was mentioned, but what about weight transfer? Other suspension items are not really needed but of course they do help.

elite hot rod you are quite snooty. sorry my 1.4 60' times on drag radials sucks compared to your elite hot rod. generally when people have no suspension mods and are asking what it takes to hook, they arent looking to go from stock to 1.3 60' times immediately.

LMAO, I'm not really snooty. In my experience, in drag racing it's all in the 60ft, if you can't get a good 60ft you won't win. I do everything I can to get my 60 as low as possible. I fully believe in having all the necessary suspension components to do so, that's all. Each component plays a different roll and each is as important as the other. If I cut a 1.3 60ft to the other guys 1.5 60ft I've already got a .2 advantage over him which we all know is hard to make up.

I beg to differ, I won bracket 3 in The World's Fastest Streetcar Shootout at US131 Motorsports Park last year with 1.8 60fts

I won a race at Milan 4 years ago with my Omni with 1.9 60fts

60ft don't matter in bracket racing.. Although, I give you credit 1.4 60ft w/drag radials...

Use a jack to jack up the rearend under the pumpkin. The will get them a little closer together.

How are your relocation brackets adjustable? Are they weld in or bolt in?

The ? was to see about getting a better 60ft. Elite was just giving him the best stuff to do. Didn't say he was bargin shopping. By the way, In Elite hot rods car I cut a 1.27 60ft with all of his metioned suspension parts.

This is a dumb thing to say in this thread. 60ft is in essence what gets you down the track faster and that is what this guys wants. We are not talking about bracket racing where the tree is the only thing that makes a difference. Obviously he wants to get a better 60ft so that he car beat people's asses out of the hole not wait on them at the end and jam the brakes on because you don't want to break out.

Bracket racing= gayness.
Headsup racing= fun to watch addrineline pumping racing. Where the 60ft is the olny thing that matters.
