Default Speedometer in f-body with turbo 400

How can you make the speedometer work in a 99 f-body that went from a 6 speed to a turbo 400?

There are companies out there that make a tail housing for the 400 with the VSS in it, I think Rossler is one of them. You can also tap into the wheel speed sensors to get a reading but you lose the ABS, PM sux2bu about that.

It has a differnt rear witout abs so that doesnt matter, but there are no wires going to the rear at all in this car.

You'll need the pickup and reluctor ring from a 454SS to make it work. Not sure about the LS1s, but that's all you need for the LTx cars. I don't have the GM part #s though.

I just switched to a mechanical speedo and ran a cable to the old pickup.

Like someone else mentioned, it is the front sensor that you tap into and sux2bu can give you all the info you need to do it.

Eastside tried that front wheel speed sensor, and it didn't work, the speedo just went all the way across from zero up to 150 or whatever, and back to zero... not sure why.

i got a new tailshaft and reluctor wheel from a tranny company in texas. Slide the wheel on the output shaft, put the tailhousing on, plug in stock sensor. Have a speedo that works like stock.
