Default 325/50/15 drag radials vs 28 x 10.5" ET drags

I've got a setup question on tire size and backspacing. I need to be able to run 325/50 15 Drag radials and 28 x 10.5" ET drags. Do you need any additional backspacing to have the same outside clearance? Between the two tire setups.

Choose your back spacing to fit the 325/50 the best you can. The 10.5 x 28" slick is a narrower section width and will just slip in place easier than the 325/50 and not worry about any clearance issues. This is also a good idea as the slick being a bias ply will have more sideways sidewall flex in turns and the added clearance over the 325/50 will go a long way to keep the sidewalls from rubbing.

If using two sets of rims, get the same back space for both.

I'm using Bogart bolted RT's.... 15x9.5"/ 7.5" BS. I've cut the spacer off the wheels and run 28-12.50-15 ET Streets(same as 10.50 Drag) without the spacer. Wheels/tires tuck in real nice. No inboard rubbing issues but is close

My M/T 325-50 DR's need the spacer to get enough inboard clearence.

I don't see how you could get the same outside clearence unless you ran two different back spaced wheels foe each tire-

I wouldn't worry about the same size outside clearance. Your making this harder than it needs to be.

No, I have to worry about the outside clearance. Right now my 28 x 10.5s are just tucked under the fenders. From the sounds of it, when I go to the 325/50s I am going to need to run a wheel with about an inch more of backspacing to get the outside to fit correctly.

Yes, to get outboard where you want it, you'll need more BS, but again, check your inboard clearence.

I've beat the snot out of my inner wells and is a tight fit w/the 7.5" BS. Another inch and you're all in the inner well sheet metal-

The inside has some pretty good clearance, another inch or 1.75 wouldn't hurt it.

The 325's are almost the exact same size as a 28x10.5W tire. If your close with a true 10.5 then you will need a deeper backspace.
