Well the old ones were smaller than the port on the heads and these will have EGTs so we can correct each cylinder A/F, we want the motor within 1-2% front to back. Between the headers and a new fuel tank we're hoping to grab a couple more hp.

Phil,

I find what you along with Shawn at Virgina Speed have accomplished is just down right incredible!!! What needs to be kept in mind is that this car was built in a home garage by an individual with what I would assume was within some sort of a budget. There are individuals out there with very deep pockets that just write checks and have all the work done for them and get all the credit for going fast. But what ya'll are a doing is just down right fricken incredible. To get to this level in the past was thought to be just for the rich and famous. That thought has now changed. This whole ordeal goes to show what a man can do when he applies himself, is creative, resourceful and has a well rounded skill set. Again dude, kudos to you, your wife, Shawn and to all who have had a hand in helping you get to this level. With those new 2" headers along with the individual EGT's and the data acquisition there's going to be some big time cars out there that better watch out!!! Chalk one up for the little guy!!!

Thanks dave, the car certainly was built on a budget... 33,800k to be exact. Now the motor the 2nd time around was a little different story.

im not taking anything away from phil but he is not an ordinary DIY guy.... i dont know all of his experience but he knows what the hell he's doing and looks like he's built several cars..... he's not the type of guy that comes on here and brags about all the **** he's built and ran before....

i also said this about KP.... everyone says oh look a D1SC on a 347 can go 8's in any body's car.... you have to realize that KP is another guy with TONS of experience he just doenst talk much about it....

you dont just build your first car that goes 4.8x on stock suspension guys.... phil is a down right knowledgable buy along with the guy at VA speed.

there's no mystery to it... money doesnt make a car go fast... knowledge and experience does.... and that is "usually" what money buys you.
