I know Phil, was just jacking with ya some...it was early in teh morning (somewhat), and I was feeling "frisky", and since I had not posted in your thread in awhile (but HAVE been keeping tabs on this beast), and "we were not below the hard deck for more then a few seconds, saw that there was no danger, so I took the shot.." (Tom Cruise, Top Gun)...

Went down to see Shawn today to pick up the freshened up engine. We replaced a few things inside the engine and transmission so it should be 100% reliable now. We're trying a new torque converter this weekend and a new camshaft, hopefully they will work as planned. I just installed the engine and transmission, still need to install the headers, intake, fuel and dry sump. I'd like to try and fire it up saturday to see if we can even spool the turbo with the new converter.

Well I got the motor back in the car, I am making a new crossover tube to test a new wastegate setup to see if it changes how happy the motor is. The crossover tube is almost finished up, still need to tig the flange on for the wastegate. I'm trying to make some hits this weekend to see if we can get it up on boost.

Finished up the crossover tube this morning and moved the wastegate to a better spot. Fired the car up and did some tranbrake testing. The new converter we're trying it significantly tighter than the last one. The last one you could foot brake and be on the 2 step in about 1.5 seconds. New converter takes about 6-7 seconds to get to the chip but when it gets there there is way more boost available. I'm going to play with cam timing and ignition timing tonight and see if I can get it to on the 2 step alittle faster.

the cool part about the converter is that the owner of ATI told me we would never spool with that converter, that it was built the same as a certain 630'' twin turbo big block converter.

I know you won't let him answer stuff like that.... ![Secret2](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/secret.gif)
I'm not surprised that the converter's that tight though. Easier to get the car spooling and making the big steam the more load it sees, and the tighter the converter the sooner you can put the boost to it, providing the car doesn't try to flip itself over.
You said it once Shawn.... engine's don't make any power unless there's a load on them
