It was insanely cold today. I wore my usual long johns, camo pants and carhartt bibs. It actually wasn't too bad. My dad came over and said I was f*ckin crazy.

I was looking at VFN's fiberglass doors earlier. I was thinking you could rig up a window regulator, locking mechanism in there and, cover them with sheet metal door panels. I don't think the weight loss would be as much apples to apples. They are priced decently at $624 / pair. Are mustang doors metal or SMC like Fbodies?

You should "budget" a heater install in that garage! The race team will appreciate it

or invest in one of the little propane heaters we have one and the thing heats the two car garage quick. i spent the day in the garage yesterday we attached a tent garage to the two car and used the stove and propane heater kept us warm all day.

The high ceiling is the killer.

If you put a hanging space heater in there, put a couple fans on the ceiling to push the heat back down.. that will help a TON.

I'm on the fence with the heat, not sure what I want to do. I think, after looking at the options, once I have the power, insulation and sheetrock done this summer I'll probably go with a hanging space heater, little modine type. Get the local gas company to drop off one of those big propane bottles, put it on a little cement pad whatever. That way I can set a t-stat to say 40, and just crank it up when I'm out there. It's either that or get a pellet stove... one or the other, not sure yet.

I know this, yesterday it was about 10 degrees in my garage.. I went out and thought about putting the front end together for about 5 minutes, then went back in the house

Call me a ***** but that wasn't happening LOL.

Yeah, I thought about doing a little wood stove too. But, I'd have to put it in the corner, and the only way it would heat the whole garage is if I put a fan blowing around it or something to get the air moving around... not sure if I would want to put a fan blowing on it, seems like a bad idea.

Whatever I do.. I'm only putting one in... can't have the garage heat sucking too much car $ up LOL.

we had a 40x60 shop that was heated but the 2 stacked 55 gallond drum stove. it worked pretty good.

my uncles shop is 60x100 and has to large hanging gas heaters. it has atleast 18 ft ceilings and is insulated and stays really nice in the winter.

i plan in a small hanging electric heater in my 3 car garage once its all finished.

I need to weld the body mounts on before I can weld the outrigger bars.
