i dont think guys like wolfe and ridenour would do this to their exhaust unless it worked in testing. i was at SGMP and saw a lot of cars with this "funny car" exhaust. ofcourse, these are guys making 2500+ hp

Thats what happens when you have a heavy *** big block, two heavy *** turbos and .5" of travel up front.

The travel comment I find interesting, as the pic's I saw from the race make teh car look like it's not even moving from the stance that it had just sitting, that car's got to be sprung really stiff, or like you're saying has absolutely no travel at all in it.

Still on the fence with the "zoomie" style exhaust. I'll bet that's just a phase people are going thru, or something they're trying with probably little return, if any.

most of the cars in any class that didnt go on the bumper had very little front travel.... the 1st qualifying round was quite humours/costly.... lots of people really beat up their front ends at this race.... the track was ra-tarded sticky.

There were alot of those there that couldnt keep the front end down.

I saw a few cars with the wheels 3' in the air at the 600' mark.

easy test. hook car to dyno with front end on scales somehow hooked to a logger of some sort or use a video camera to watch the numbers and run it through the gears as if its doing a 1/4 mile run with regular exhaust. then, put on "zoomie" exhaust and run it again. the difference is your down force or lack there of.

Or scale it twice....One with downpipes going sideways and 1 test with them up

I like the guys saying the exhaust can't or won't work. It's trying new stuff and thinking outside the box that makes this stuff faster. When you stop being open minded is when you stop growing.

What i'm saying-until you try it,don't form an opinion.

i believe it works these motors are pushing 2000 hp worth of air...motors are just air pumps anyways...plus top fuel uses it...

and a dyno wouldent really work theres not enough load...

I hear ya Shawn about being open minded... but I've seen enough gimmick stuff over the years that didn't do anything other then get a bunch of people talking and spending $ and trying stuff only to find it didn't do anything.

It might work, it might not, but I I'd put my $ on wolfe doing it to do exactly what's happening here, getting people to talk about his car, which in turn will generate sales.

If it works great, a way to add front end downforce, but my guess is it's more to generate attenion.

Why's that? I've used loaded dynos many of times.

Progress continues, its coming along nicely. Getting close to needing a motor and tranny. I've got a few things up my sleeve that are starting to come together.

i think youd have to load the engine and suspension to get clear numbers on it.

The upward exhaust does work. I have talked to the guy who came up with this. The angle of it matters even. In order to get forward and downward thrust. This was tested on a few Pro Mod cars with large motors and twins. He said he wasn't sure if a 400 cube motor with two 3.5" pipes would be worth anything.
