I'll be interested to see how they manage the power of that thing to get it down the track on radials! Gotta love the throttle response with blower cars though.

if/when it hooks up.. its going to be on that razor thin edge.

Getting these radial cars to hook up is not as hard as everyone thinks. Brian(Madman) is tuning the chassis/suspension so you know that ***** going to be right and the power management shouldn't be too tough. Its just a matter of making hits and increasing the launch RPM until she blows the tires off and back it up. Timing retard is going to be what gets the car from A to B.

normally i would agree with you Phil, but in the case of a roots blower-it's not so easy.It took Gil Mobley 4 months worth of testing and several, several thousands of dollars worth of parts to get his screw to work on 10.5's.A radial car is even going to be harder.

I figured out a way on mine...but don't think it'll work with phil's EGT setup. The Altronics Red Alert EGT system has a 12V output that goes hot if any cylinder exceeds a predetermined EGT temp. put that output in a normally closed relay (to open it). that relay can control the BS3 ignition wire.
if it gets too hot, then the motor is shut down.

I've now added an EGT over-temperature safety feature to my ECU.
But do EGT probes react fast enough on a 7 or 6 second car?
In my case an AFR check would also have shown that 13.7:1 AFR with the nitrous on isn't a good idea.

I had what looks like a nitrous system malfunction on my 12s car the other week and slightly melted a plug electrode. EGT logs were obviously way too hot (peaking at 905C)

Its getting some much needed upgrades. If we were like everybody else the motor would be back together and we'd be racing but we're not. Shawn is always finding ways to improve the LSx as far as power and reliability. We found a couple areas to improve on and we're following the plan.

the engine is coming together quite nicely. This new block is really nice-i figured it would be alot rougher being a pre production unit.I really can't wait to see what thing can handle
