I'm not really concerned with painting the doors or repainting the car. At this point in time I'd rather spend the money on stuff to make the car more consistent and faster and use the money we win to get the car painted. IMO you need a race car that can win first and look good second.

I can tell you this, I never want another pretty looking race car. Way to stressful worrying about every little chip and scratch.

I've tried hard to keep my sled looking decent, but sometimes, I do wish I had a dented up 1984 notchback for a racecar... just because if you drop a wrench on a fender you don't want to bang you head with a car like that.

Just out of curiosity, when you were using the GMPP single plane ls7 intake, did it fare well in the 7000-8000rpm range?

this is the answer i was hoping to hear!

i tore my car apart 2 and a half years ago, thinking i should make it look a little bit better. yeah, its still in pieces hahaha. i think about how much time/money has gone into making the body right compared to how far that could've gone to making it go quicker

Your right, a local company donated the materials so we didn't have any money tied up into the paint but there is a big difference in the paint job we did and one done by a high end shop for 5500 or a wrap for $3500.

I right there with you Phil.
I cant justify spending that much on paint when we still need more go fast parts that we cant afford.

Hell just walk around any NHRA/IHRA National event and take a close look at the Pro Stock cars, some of them are pretty ruff, but they look good on TV!

One of the racers once told me it's not a show car, it's just a tool
