SFI 25.2 Mustang/LSx build "The Renegade"
#1142
Before this last deal we were just over 30k. Shawn has the motor now and he'll be cordinating the parts and stuff so I can get working on my next house. We broke ground this week and the concrete guys are coming in next week. I'll be going between both projects for awhile but we're at a standstill with the motor until we get the new crank.

7.59 for $30k is actually encouraging to me. I would have guessed a little more. I know you have done 99% of the labor, so that helps. I'm trying to run a 7 for the least amount possible (used parts where it doesn't matter, and trading labor as much as I can). Following your build up has been a huge help to me. I am a home designer and builder (mostly high end stuff), if I can help you or answer any questions, pm me anytime.

Phil,
Been following the build for awhile and am amazed how quickly you sorted everything out and got this car MOVING.
On your old engine were you running steel rods? If so which ones? Also, were you running into problems with the rods buckling at all, is this why you are now switching to AL rods?
This is a great build to follow and it is nice of you to document the problems and fixes that you ran into during the build. I am sure it will help others who are building similar cars in the future. Best of luck on to you with the new engine.

Hell, at least it's better than the 302 splitting in half. Eventually, they found a fix for that so there's hope.

Lol, yeah stock 302s sure like to shred right down the middle. Makes for some fun carnage pics though.
Phil, not trying to be pushy, just wondering. I applaud you for pioneering this, its certainly not cheap.
