at your level in the game, that amount doesnt buy much, and if it does, it wont make it THAT much faster.

Your joking right? I guess its kinda like the difference between someone like billy glidden and chuck ulsch. Both racers are at the top of their class but glidden makes the dollars quadruple in performance and has proven you dont need a big budget or engine to run with the 525" brad anderson blown hemis. Its all in how you approach it, I'm trying to do the most for the least $$, I could have put the money together for a 632 twin turbo setup but there is more in the combo I have so, why move up when you've got soo much left on the table with the current combo.

*****, most of the guys aren't using more than 60% of what the combos are really worth either its the engine combo isn't right or the chassis isn't setup correctly. **** on our back to back 4.70s there was a minimum of 5-6 areas we could have easily gone faster and the track wasn't even that good. And we're not talking about running the motor on the ragged edge and blowing up every pass, more like maximizing the area under the curve.

I think thats where it is. To the guy that said 5500 dont buy a lot of parts must not have a car or be going very fast. 5500 could be a move up in turbo size, a brand new tranny, or a new set of heads. Not to mention dough for normal maintenance.

that would be me.
that money can buy a lot of parts, but once youve dumped tens of thousands into a car, 3-5000 dollars doesnt go as far as it would if he ran a second slower.
ive been chasing hundreths for years. compared to phil, my car isnt that fast, but ive worked a lot to get where i am with my combo, as has phil.
i was only reffering to going faster, not spending the money on normal maintenance and such.
no need to look too far into the comment.

We had to add the wastegate to control the boost in the beams, Some modifications were made to the turbo that no one has done before and it will come up on boost quicker hence the precision stage control and the additional wastegate. I'm kinda surprised no one has tried it before.

5k over time wont get you much since little things add up fast, but 5k all at once is a lot of $$$$$ in parts!!!

After seeing the difference on a 76mm turbo we were testing, it'd be interesting to see what a T6 turbo would do with ball bearings in it.
