some of these guys are running big blocks at 9200-9300 rpm.small blocks are even worse.

this engine will probably see 7500 rpm shift points.we will only need the higher rpm for 1/4 mile racing which we don't do much of.

You will eventually change to 3.20 or 3.25s which will make your ability to 60' even harder. This combo will definitely be harder on valvetrain parts.

With our tranny package, 8500 RPMs will net 210-212mph. The comparable 10% numbers works out to 194. Basically its a system that has to work together and every piece effects the next.

Phil / Shawn,

It kinda looks like ya'll are taking some ques from Fords new direct injection V6 turbo motor for the 2011 F150. Low RPM and gobs of high torque.
Speaking of that, maybe you guys should be the first to run direct injection in race motor? I've wondered when we will see that technology in our sport.

i got a prototype controller in the shop that will control DI injectors.I really don't think we need to tackle that learning curve right now

I can't wait to see someone bring DI into drag racing.

Yea I was kinda being facetious, but it wouldn't surprise me to see ya'll being one of the first ones to play with that technology.

Talk about weird... Last night I had phuckin weird dream last night. We're working and all the sudden a car drops off the back of a lift and almost kills one of my buddies. So I went out today and didn't even think twice about it until I raised the lift...

Maybe if your car wasn't a fat heavy pig...

In all honesty glad you caught it, someone must be looking out for you somewhere! What are you going to do about it?

Well we got the 1st part of the build. RHS got a Tall deck 4.125" bore block pretty quick. Now the block prep work can begin, larger head studs, clearancing, Jesel machine work, and machine work for the Billet Main support.

DAMN Phil,

Nice catch on the lift.

I'll have to check out the block on Saturday when I'm down there.

So now we're going with a ~455" RHS, Bryant CCW Billet Crank, GRP rods, JE Pistons with N/A Compression , Jesel Rockers, PI/Mast Mozez heads, New Sheetmetal intake with 16 injectors from John M marcella and some tranny mods to lower the converter slippage.

holy christ.. thats going to be a very ... interesting... motor to say the least maybe shawn could get a little out of his element and develope a variable slip converter :shrugs:
