Car_fixer,
We're really surprised at the small steps that we took and how much time it took off the ET. When we were adding boost our we were taking out .05 seconds at a time and getting good results.

Madman,
I am going to send you a PM either today or tomorrow to see if we can extract the last .15 out of the 60' and really lay the wood down.

Shawn,
Here we go, I think for the next real street race we'll make a small change for the first qualifier to see if we can go a 7.50 with roughly the same tuneup than we'll step it up in the 2nd session since the track temps will be alittle cooler.

Brian,
Will you hurry up already and get your car done....its Sooooooo close.

I know,i'm just talking **** to get everybody worked up

We looked at the pass this morning in great detail. For being a fast pass we definitely have some room on the table for improvement...
1.39 60'
Full boost came in 1 second into high gear
A/F in high gear was 10.4 - 9.9 at the top
slightly lifted again TPS was 79%
IATs were high 100-104

So...we're *hoping* with a
- 1.29 60' we've got a mid to low 50 in it
- bringing boost in 1.5 seconds faster would get us to the mid 40s with a 1.2x 60'
- lowering the IATs, adding 6-7# of boost, and getting the fuel to 11.5:1 on the big end will result in a .3x run

We're almost ready for this weekend. I took off the front and rear bumper and skirts and started looking at where we could remove weight. Found a handful of things that were worked and pulled 20# out of the car. May not sound like alot but when you figure.

20#
50# ballast in rear
50# of ballast in middle
30# of ballast in front
30# fuel cell change

That will get us in the ballpark for a race in September where we are not required to weigh 3300-3400. There are still 5 or 6 more places I can remove hopefully another 20-30lbs.

We're going to be out @ MIR this friday for their outlaw drag radial class. Everyone is hoping we can dip in to the 40s. Weather should be in the 70s for the evening runs.

What does your track do when you run faster than the cert? One of our local racers went a 7.38 last Friday at Milan and they did not allow the run. Last year they looked the other way, but it seems that is over.

It looks like 25.5 cars will end being a 7.50 index class! Even upgrading to a 25.2 cert, I think most DR cars are too heavy to cert under 7.50?

Kurt,
Well we've had a handful of cars go 40s/Vrettos went .37 and .38. I can tell you Vretto ain't pulling no power out of his combo.

SFI is coming up with a new chassis cert should be done by the end of the year.

wow... why dont they just make the regular 25.5 good to 6.80 or something and the 25.2 good to 6.25..... its getting pretty rediculous.... hell if people build these cars themselves they will never have a chance to run very much because the rules change so fast...

rant/

We're slowly getting there, as usual with new car blues we're finding small **** that needs to be addressed. One thing that is a problem is our IATs are through the roof and we found something in the intercooler setup that needs to be fixed. We're also creeping up on the 60's. They were deadly consistent all night, If I remember correct they were all 1.35s with the exception of the one where it spun(1.7) and the last one 1.33. We ran about 25# of boost on the 191 or 193 pass so we're heading in the right direction, our best 1/8 mile hit was a 5.0000000 @ 153 still again with the 1.35 60'. If we had more time I definitely think we could have made the correct changes and gotten down the track alittle faster.

First test hit we make a 1/8 mile test hit, car went left but wheeled it back to the center of the track, very soft 5.1 @ 150mph pass. 1.35 60', A/F was right where we left it last time low 10:1.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh20Vza74vM

First round qualifier we slid in the right lane and had bad luck, spun the tires at the hit pedaled it and went a 8.1 @ 189 1.7 60'. Car felt strong in the mid range

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giFuLXnqMp8

2nd round qualifier we switched to the left lane that seems to hook alittle better maybe its our luck. Put a soft tuneup that we knew would go down the track. Made a very soft 7.59 @ 191 1.35 60'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjuoWRkSJgg

1st round we drew Scott Bitzer who is very fast. Put alittle more tuneup in it and had some issues at the top of the track, let out and went another 7.58 @ 180 with another 1.35 60'. We busted a nice .007 light on that run.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oynTqvF3P3Q

2nd round action we drew the infamous Richie Stine who is killer on the tree and deadly consistent. We added alittle more power, tree'd his *** but it shook the tires HARD 100' out, but did go a 1.33 60'
