Mini Tubbing
Yeah - I had to switch the polarity on mine. It came with flux core wire. I knew it would need to be changed. I learned the hard way when I bought my other welder and was bagging a truck. I thought I had purchased a piece of crap. LoL
I was doing a little brain storming and think I am going to cut out some more metal from the car.
I was thinking of cutting everything off from below the point where the rear skin bolts on, rear since I am making a new trunk floor.

Besides my street car need to be lighter than yours, since I am running a bigger tire

man cut much more and there wont be anything to build on lol, its cool santa is gonna slide a fuel cell under the tree though lol, keep the pictures comming, just watch all those sharp edges, they can cut the hell out of you.
I know I know, I am turning my "street car" into another road monster
But hey it's all in the name of tire clearance LOL. I really am happy with how it is tuning out, I will take more photos after I cut everything out, maybe on sunday or monday after I line it it all up real nice with the grinder I'll post some photos, I have film and it only costs 3 bucks to put it on a disk, I really need to get a digital camera, but the other one was dropped one too many times
I ordered the 40" tubs today, it is going to look bad ***, I got them in aluminum and I'll shine them up nice
I am still going to cover the rest of the floor with that light weight carpet so just part of the tub will be sticking out and I am going to put all of the factory plastic back in.
I bet that will be fun to trim, but I'll take my time I want this to come out SUPER clean looking.
You doing anything to yours or does the winter shut down your season?

well i put the new steering box in after i painted it, then did a nice big smokey burnout in the parking lot, the cleaning service at the shop just finished mopping and emptied the bucket, i couldnt pass on the opportunity, since the old slicks are on the car any way. lets see, I think i am going to pull the rear and put the back brace chute mount and tow hooks on and get some hiem end rear arms ( comes out cheeper than building them) then probably add a return to the fuel system, nothing that should require a torch, metabo, or plasma cutter though. I may build a 1/2 scale dragster though, the guy that owns the building next to the shop has an r1 engine that needs a home, he is thinking about maybe a turbo or nitrous on it too, I think his first idea was better though, he originally wanted to build a 4 wheeler for it, I drew out a pro mod type thing , sort of a cross between a sand drag bike and a prostock bike, several guys race them around here but all factory based engines, im thinkin @200 hp on say a 500 lb package with rider....sweet, he chickend out after i said that there is 130 plus speeds possible in an 1/8 th mile, then he decided he wants a cage....and i would even use wheely bars on that thing, no fun at all ( seriously i didnt blame him for changeing his mind, that thing could get ugly fast)
anyway did you figure out what you are going to do with the fuel fill, are you going to just open the trunk to fuel? and what about emissions around you, do you have them? your evap system wont work right with a cell

i got no problem with big tires, i like them infact. its just when a stock mini beats
it down the track that i have to wonder. ( i was up against a mini one time and couldnt belive how fast it was, it ran a 14 something)
