Default TA bumper support prototype from Burkhart

Here is the prototype TA bumper support. It is made from the correct type and size of CM tubing required to be NHRA legal for use with a fuel cell. If the hood latch is removed it looks like a 3 gal cell will fit. We will test this in the next few weeks,

The support weighs 12 ponds in prototype form on our scale.

We did get the fog light mount included. If no lights are needed we can add a tow hook.

Let me know what you think.

We are working on pricing. What coating options would you want? Initial thoughts are Black or Hammer Tone powder coat.

I could deal with painting it, that's not an issue.

Can the factory hood latch still be used, for us clowns that haven't gone to a pin on yet? Also, it looks like you can remove that top plastic piece the bumper's attached to with the pop in pins, yes? Lower part looks to be set up the same way too?

This will work with the hood latch. We even took off the headlights with this on. Yep the plastic peice goes. The push pins go right into the 3 small tubes. There is a bracket there. For the bottom, we can add tabs for thr bottom, but....

The way this is set up, you can cut off the flap of plastic the bottom push pins use. This will save about 3 more pounds of weight. The bottom bar rides along the nose and the lower part. It is very stable and sound.

Aah, so the strait flat part that usually pops into the factory bumper can be trimmed off. That's good, works for me.

I'll add one of these onto the front end order, **** at the rate it's going I might come in at enough to get the next level of discount LOL.

One last question, what were you looking at for a fuel cell to mount in there, something that you guys will be making, or will a generic one from JAZ or the like work? Doesn't matter to me, just curious.

Looks good, i assume the foglights just bolt right into that? Is there any modifying that you have to do for it to fit or is just a bolt on piece? I think these are going to sell really good, for coating you could do powder or bare metal, making the bare metal cheaper. Now you need to do a rear one and make a package out of it.

We will get this on the anti tax sale.

The fuel cell with just be a generic 3 gallon. Nothing specisl. We will however make the brackets for whatever Chuck gets to test with. We can offer the cell as an option.

Bare metal saves us turnaround time as well. It should also be about 20.00 cheaper.

The foglights will bolt on with 2 supplied 6mm bolts. The only mod you may need to do is drill out the bolt holes on the frame rail. We would like to use a little larger bolt. Other than that this will be a simple bolt on.

Getting the cover off and on with this installed is easy. Chuck and I did that about 100 times yesteday making this thing up.

We will offer a rear kit as well. It will be a simple bolt on bar that goes between the frame rails. OR do you want something more elaborate like the front part?

for the rear i think a basic bar is enough. some people might want to integrate a parachute mount. and a package deal knocking a little off is always nice too.

A rear with the option of a parachute setup, definately the way to do it. OR, have the parachute part a simple add on to the rear bar. Something that you could buy separately for people that later on end up needing it, this way you have one piece, that can be used by guys that need a chute, guys that don't need it, and the guys that will need it down the road.
