I dont mind banging on the inner fenders but im not wanting to cut fender or bumper. I really dont know where it needs to be cut either. My car is stock height and has non adjustable lca and panhard from umi. Is ther any hope for me? recomendation and pics wiould be a great help. I have searched alot but most are post of other rims like prostars. thanks guys, i wanna have the tires waiting one the bogarts arrive.

Even a non-'W' series 28" slick may rub even with the correct off-set wheels due to tire growth at high speed. Depends on actual circumference, how the rear is centered in the openings, tolerance stack, etc. Just be careful as you don't want to cut a slick down at speed thinking you are okay. Good luck. Dave

You will likely have to do some cutting on the rear bumper cover(the one part near the bottom tends to touch at high speed with the 28`s)

If you could run radials that might be a better choice as they fit the stock wheel well and wont "ballon" up and grow like a slick will.

Why not run a Hoosier DR? They hook just as well, are lighter and not on backorder

you can run a 28x9x15 et drag, that is 27.3 tall and won't rub. A 27x11.5x15 hoosier qtp won't rub, and those work o.k., or a 275x60x15 drag radial, that's 28 tall and will not rub because they don't grow.

The radials, may work for you but may not depending on the suspension setup, the 28x9 et drag is a little skinny but still work fairly well, better then the 26x10 et drag IMO, the 27x11.5 hoosier qtp is like an et street, they work good for anything in the high 10's or slower IMO.

He there psj did you have to cut the fenders and do you have pics of that? i want a 28 because my car is inconsitent on the nitrous, it will hook but need real good prep. Ive gone 6.91@ 102 in the 1/8 and am hoping for 6.6x lwith a little more n20. The cars weighs 3655 with me in it. Do you have adj.lcas? thanks guys, i really dont know what tire to run. I want to be as consistent as i am on the motor, it runs 7.5x all day@ 91-92mph.

more tire you can put under it the more consistant it will be. But, too much will slow it down.

with adjustable lca'a and lhb you can get a 28x10.5 on the car, which should be plenty of tire for the speeds that you are running. A 28x10.5S would be the one to go with at your raceweight.

I have nothing cut on the Camaro, but I'd have to go out and check to see if the tires rub the rear bumper... I'll check tomorrow morning.

I dont understand why you need 28`s at that power level(unless its for gearing purpose)
my car has never even thought about spinning infact I will have to experiment with adding more air so It doesnt dead hook so much maybe start at 15psi or so I guess.
I think I can get the 60ft down from 1.47 to 1.42 or so I hope

well i dont know why it dosent hook so well, maybe the car is too heavy for the smaller tire? I cut low 1.7x 60' on motor but 1.61-1.65 60' on the bottle and i can feel the car spin 10-20'. I really wish i could use a 26" tire but ive tried m/t radials 255s and hoosier qtp 26x9.5x16 and the best ive ever gone is 1.58 60'. That is the only 1.5x i have ever gotten.
