Default TH400'd Nissan Skyline GT-R33 !

Hi,

This is my first ever post here and need some help from transmission builders

I have a 1100whp Nissan skyline GT-R R33 that is getting a th400 converstion for the new drag season over here as the stock tranny obviously can't take the power and sequential is too pricey, my only and fastest option would be the th400 like all the supra boys

I'm from the Persian gulf and can't ship a ready tranny from the states as the cost of shipping would be too much, so I wanna get a stock th400 from here and build it over here

The car will have trans-brake too to load and boost the engine off the line as the turbos are huge and need to get 1.3-1.4 60' to really challenge the guys in the outlaw cat. here

I need help on what to buy for the tranny to make it hold 1k whp reliably for a season, whats a good average torque converter? which flexplate should i buy ( only ATI does one for the rb26dett skyline engine as far as I know) ? which clutches to get ? which full manual trans-brake kit in reverse pattern to get ?

The adapter I already got

Tranny builders, your input would be appreciated

Thanx

Few reasons actually,

But main reason is because a th400 is dirt cheap over here and can be found everywhere, they go for like $100-150

A powerglide will be more expensive obviously..

So i'll stick to the 400 for now

where to start. I don't think a $100 TH400 is going to last with 1100rwhp.

if you have an "1100 whp" car which im sure cost plenty of money, why are you going so cheap on a transmission ? Makes no sense at all to me.

I'm running a PTC torque converter in my turbo car, and the trans was built by a local guy. I'd post this thread in the transmission section to get a lot of input from the board sponsors.

^^^ exactly, saving up on the trans doesn't mean I'm cheap, I need to build something here locally...100$ trans is a stock core, I'll be upgrading the internals with aftermarket parts

Drag season starts in about 2 months and I got no time to run something else, one more reason why I want a th400 over a glide, is that the car is occasionally driven on the streets

Hey 1dirtyZ

I assume ur from saudi but yea.. I have entered in the purple skyline GT-R here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHZTdb3iI0Y last season, with almost 930whp but couldn't manage to run again as the stock tranny couldn't take any abuse and I broke few on the streets fine tuning the car just before the drag ..my best and only run was 10.8 @ 220km ..I only ran once shifting like a granny extra slow to not break the stock 5 speed and lag killed the car, So I didn't bother running again, with my power I should be in the low 9s with a proper tranny

Anywayz, I' ain't entering in the purple one anymore as I changed the setup to a track/autocross setup with much less power and built another RHD Skyline GT-R33 which I will th400 pushing over 1100whp ...car is ready and all, just need the tranny now

Yea I wanna make sure the car is fine so that shiit dont go wrong last second

Some vid's of the car idling few days ago

Since you mentioned ATI

I would call them and explain you setup they would be more than happy to answer all your questions on what parts you might need for your Turbo 400.

Good people and good parts

I hope you have nitrous on the car. You are going to have to hit it with at least a 150 shot on the trans brake to get the 60' times that you want.

Powerglide cores cost more, he's trying to save some money. Dean from DRC built both of my TH400's but I doubt he sells individual parts. You can try buying his stuff via Larry@ls1speed.com. I've gone 1.35 and 1.38 in both of my cars.
