Default Spohn vs. BMR torque arm

What's peoples opinion on the Spohn tubular adjustable torque arm or BMR's Trak Pak torque arm. Looking at Spohn tq arm I'm wondering about the floor pan where the front of the arm mounts. Has anyone had problems with it wrinkling / buckle the floor while running on MT slicks.

Get the BMR. I have had problems with the Spohn. I sell the BMR as my street/strip setup.

Hello,

Please keep us in mind as well. We offer a nice tunnel mounted torque arm set-up that requires no welding.. we than make a 3-Point SFC that bolts under the torque arms mounting location to prevent any floor board damage... please take a look at the picture below and let know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
Ryan

I have a TRANS mounted UMI torque arm. My times are in my sig. Over the years and all of the cars, I liked the UMI and BMR stuff the best. I had Spohn and sold it to get the UMI.

I have a full UMI Suspension setup and love it! They make good stuff at great prices so you will definitely want to consider them. What you see is what I have (except for those A-arms).

I have an S&W torque arm (adjustable, 4130) that works real well (1.30 60's with the back tires and a 4:00 gear).

Between the cars, there's both a BMR and a UMI in the mix.

Both have worked very well on the street and at the track. I'd recommend either.

Ask Tom Kemph about that tq arm, I think he'll have a little differnt opinion on how strong they are, he twisted up more then one of them.

I like madman's piece, only problem is I don't think I could do much with the exhaust if I went with one that goes across the car like that, if it weren't for that I would love to put one on my car.

I do have a full lenth BMR one attached to a BMR th400 crossmember, so there's some adjustability of the instant center like madman's, not quite as heavy duty/nice, but it's working o.k. so far.

I have the Spohn, and never had a problem with it, until I minitubbed the car, and put in the 10" spring with the 315 tire. On my first voyage out, the car hit some bumps and in doing so, pushed the TQ arm up into the tranny tunnel, and because of the big beefy edge at the top by the rear mount, it pushed the rear end to one side, and cut the tire.

Anyone have pics of the BMR installed, or pics of the top piece? That may be a better solution to pounding or cutting the tranny tunnel. Thanks.

I have the spohn TA and it makes all kinds of noises- especially going around corners. I have tried just about everything to fix the clunk clunk clunk, but nothing has worked. It works well otherwise. I got it as it doesn't add stress to the tranny.

if anyone knows a fix for the clunk let me know.

had a sphon and changed to a bmr because of the weld in crossmember thought it would be stronger than the 4 bolts holding it in
