not sure about the camaro, but the stock LT1 firebird hood was 45#, 22# after I cut out all the supports and made it a pin-on hood, and I haven't taken my K-member out yet so not sure there...

The VFN hood I had on the 2000 Camaro weighed about 25 lbs, it was a bolt on. My reccollection was that the stock LS car hood were 45-50 lbs, I weighed a wrecked SS hood and it was 47 lbs I think.

I've done a the lt1 k-member swap on a freinds car. It was no where near 80#'s. This was k-member only.
I would be shocked if you saved 20#'s. no joke. The stock one is pretty light.
It did open up the engine bay quite a bit though.
