Default How much do they weigh?

I didn't see these in the stickys.

What is the weight of a stock LT1 camaro hood?

What is the weight of the stock LT1 k-member?

not sure about the camaro, but the stock LT1 firebird hood was 45#, 22# after I cut out all the supports and made it a pin-on hood, and I haven't taken my K-member out yet so not sure there...

I have had a LT1 camaro w/ stock hood and a LS1 w/ a stock hood and I can tell the LS1 is far heavier. The exact weight i do not have off hand.

Are you trying to determine this for shipping purposes or deciding on what to buy? I plan on changing both at some point. The k member will definetly be first. If I beat you to it I'll post the weights.

41 pounds for the hood, found in sticky link

The stock K and A arms are easily 80 pounds. Aftermarket had a shipping weight of 33 pounds

Right now, I'm debating on which to "lighten'up"-new vfn hood or bmr k and a-arms.

Thanks everyone.

The VFN hood I had on the 2000 Camaro weighed about 25 lbs, it was a bolt on. My reccollection was that the stock LS car hood were 45-50 lbs, I weighed a wrecked SS hood and it was 47 lbs I think.

I've done a the lt1 k-member swap on a freinds car. It was no where near 80#'s. This was k-member only.

I would be shocked if you saved 20#'s. no joke. The stock one is pretty light.

It did open up the engine bay quite a bit though.
