Probably with the brakes released, and the accelerator pushed in a downward motion.

I try to set my launch RPM with the right foot and then side step the McLeod twin disk on the third amber.

I destroyed that clutch once, but McLeod was nice enough to replace it.

I haven't gotten good 60' times. 1.70 was typical. Haven't raced the car at the track for a very long time. Couldn't keep the T-56 together also and got sick of breaking ****. Finally got it rebuilt (for the second time) a few months ago with upgrades but haven't been to the track with it since. Besides the breakage, I often had difficulty hitting the sweet spot on the launch. I have an aluminum flywheel and I need to practice more on setting a consistent launch RPM in line with the track conditions and what rubber I have out back. Bog or spin... with an occasional awesome launch that hooked just right.

I'd love to take a boosted LS1 with an auto trans, loose verter, and sticky meats to the track. I just don't happen to own any.

i launch just over idle with no transbrake, 3400 Vig stall. car goes 1.3x 60's. the car seems to react well flashing into the stall rather than powerbraking.

If you slowly release the clutch (let it slip a little) You will launch MUCH harder and not break as much stuff.

Screw slipping the clutch. If the parts break, they didn't deserve to live.

I don't finesse that ****. I set launch RPM, and BAM! on the third amber.

That attitude is probably why I haven't been to the track in that car for a while.

I could never get my D1 set-up to hook. The best I could get was 1.7s playing with the throttle. If I hit it hard it would always spin. The best 60s came from a 3000rpm brake stall and then slowly going to wot after releasing the brakes of course. I was pulling 1.5s before the D1 so it was much easier to get it to hook with less power. I don't know how the hell I'm going to get the new set-up to hook, I think I'm going to need a 2-step.
