Default Dynoed the UPD lid vs the fast toys 85mm lid today.

Ok,not worth posting the graphs(and don't know how) The 85mm lid only made 1.5hp more then the upd lid back to back. Thought the 85mm lid was to be the next great lid. guess not.

Hey Mike you can send me the dyno graph and I can post for you.

The UPD lid has a 98mm opening, I think the FT85 is 99-100mm. What size motor was this test on?

Good to see that cheaper UPD lid performs as well as the FT85 - plus the UPD doesn't rub the hood. I have see 5rwhp gains with the UPD over the SLP lid.

It wouldn't take much to make the UPD lid into a 100mm lid.

Can you list your engine specs as well? I wouldn't expect much if any gain on a stock engine...with either lid...but on a built engine, absolutely...though I'd still expect them both to be about the same.

Angie I never bothered getting two graphs less then 2hp apart. I can call vector motorsports and get it. I just did'nt see the reason at the time. I was dealing with other car problems that day. Like my **** breaking on the dyno. It was not a great day for me. but we did dyno them back to back. The motor is a 402ci with ported l92 heads,l76 intake,LG G6X3 cam,12bolt,m6 car 520hp car on a stang dyno.

520 with a 200$ intake is pretty impressive i wonder what it would do on a dynojet? are the g6x3 cam specs G13 classified?

I talked to Aggie and Pat G about this before I picked up my UPD lid from Aggie. If anyone has a UPD lid, the first thing that sticks out is the design of the lid. Unlike other lids, the UPD doesn't have a squared off back that typically allows air to turbulate their. It kinda has a pyramid shape to it. Also, the under side of the UPD lid is very-very smooth compared to other lids I have seen. The one thing I liked about my SLP lid vs. the UPD lid is the way it sealed down around the bottom portion... minor detail really as i will find something to use that will seal off any air getting out and pressurize the lid.

Also, to note, the UPD lids snot can be enlarged if someone wished to do so. Aggie sent me a pm explaining how but it accidently got deleted unforunately. IMO, the UPD lid is the best lid out there currently. From what I know though, they aren't being produced at this time. I was lucky enough to grab up a carbon fiber version from Aggie some time ago, not sure if he still has any or not.

I also want to note that my 85mm MAF did not fit into the UPD lid. I simply converted over to SD which made the car respond better then when I had the MAF on, even being untuned for SD.

Yeah they don't give specs out. I ran all LG's cams in the past and never knew specs. I'm not saying the fast toys lid is no good,so I hope they don't come in upset. I was just wanting to see a gain going to the 85mm lid. And I did 1.5hp was my gain.

That doesn't fly with me. I have no problem with them not advertising the specs but the buyer should be given them. I would never purchase a cam that did not come with a cam card.

what was the price difference between the 2 lids, i mean they are both 85mm pretty much plus the UDP has a better bottom half shape for air flow...if i had to guess i would say they are about the same like your dyno shows...plus you cant even get UDP anymore(couple floating around here and there), so the choice of the lid is pretty simple then...

I don't need a cam card, all the cams from LG perform. The upd lid got from angie for $117 I think and the fast toys is listed on the site. I'm selling the upd lid to my bud. I need the 1.5hp from the fast toys. lol He has a slp lid and was going to dyno that one too the same day,but car broke and f'd that up. The goal was slp,upd vs fast toys 85mm on same car. Maybe next year.

Dang I have an SLP lid and I know a lid is a lid is a lid, but I'd like to see the difference between it and the UPD. If your bud goes to the track can you have him do 3 runs with the slp and 3 with the upd to see if there is any difference? Thanks!

I still want to see more stock sized lid vs. 85mm lids for used on stock motors with 90/90 combos.

Can someone post a pic or link to this UPD lid? I've never heard of it or seen it.

Some of you are reading this wrong. From what I understand the UDP lid is not a stock size lid. The fact that the FTP lid made more power over the UDP only makes it that much more impressive.

Even larger gains will be seen compared to a stock size lid like the SLP.
