Yeah Patrick G can hook you up. It's a good time to install a new oil pump and timing chain.

The transmission is a built Circle D Stage I 4L60E and will handle all that this car can throw at it. FWIW- Circle Ds Stage I is = to most competitors Stage III.

Did your Trans Am come from the factory with 243s?

In the world of LS1 F-bodies, having 243s takes you out of cam-only territory.

I had stock untouched 241's,Never said anything about having heads.I understand he has 243's,which you are right it isnt considered cam only,But it still makes good power regardless.

I agree, not trying to take anything away from him because the car seems like it has a very well thought out setup that performs.

I found this one another site and it seems to be pretty accurate. Corrected information My EPS lobes cam is at 49 on the card but 50 on the cam doctor sheet intake and 49 exhaust, so they are right in line with the XER.

If you know the advertised duration (.006) of a cam you can calculate the ramp rate. To do this you take the duration @.006 and subtract it from the duration @ .050. A number of 53 or higher denotes an XE lobe or other mild lobe and a number of 49 or lower denotes an XE-R lobe or other aggressive lobe

Thanks for taking the time to explain that too me. That EPS lobe seems like a good one for a daily driver, or would the XE be smarter?

According to Geoff and what Patrick G has said, these lobes are supposed to be easy on springs and valvetrain parts. I know mine is very quiet compared to the old XER cam.

The car weights 3480 with you in it? So,it's a 3,280-3,000lbs range with out you. Thats a light car.My t.a weights 3,450 with out me in it and i'm 220lbs again. Impressive with everything going on with this car. Very nice work.

I only weigh 150ish and yes that's with me in the car. The only weight reduction is removal of the front sway bar,spare/jack, AIR pump and front skinnys, but I've added a 1" rear anti-roll bar and LCA relocation brackets which should get me close to stock weight. My son's 2001 SS weighs 3450#s with him in it. He has LCA relocation brackets, removed spare/jack and front sway bar removed. Everything else is stock including the steel 5 spoke wheels. The Camaros are known to be slightly lighter than the TAs.

Patrick spec'd me an EPS lope cam and mine is at 49 on each. So that means it's more aggressive like the XE-R

That's why I was hoping Patrick or Geoff would chime in to see if that if was accurate or not.

This is my next mod: EPS cam by patrick G, 243 heads. I want heads and cam w/ almost to exact spec as the OP. Very impressive.

Quick Reply: Baby EPS cam lays down 430rwhp/415rwtq with track results!
