Almost any engine can make stupid power. It takes a Supra to put it to useless.

without the chevy hood on that galaxie, it wouldnt be as fast.

my favorite looks are the ones the old timers give you when you walk their "800 hp street Hemi" with a almost stock 98 Z

oh gosh dont get me started on the old timers and their overrated old engines. "yeah my old 1967 _____ had 300 horsepower from the factory. Oh yeah those were the good ole days"......when in reality most of those cars put out closer to 30% less than advertised.

p.s is that really a chevy style hood? i just went with whats easiest. They dont make any fiberglass parts for the 68' so i bought a steel cowl. I thought it would give me a few inches to add a spacer but in the end, my air cleaner barely rubs the top of the hood as it is at idle without a carb spacer i got lucky it just BARELY fit.

no joke. my favorite collection of BS was on an episode about 4 years ago of American Muscle Car. where they took like 6 different big blocks from different manufacturers and dynoed them...i cant remember exactly what the 429 ford, 427 SOHC, 427 chevy or whatever BOP motor they tested, but the only one that i clearly remember is the 426 street Hemi. somehow they got 800 hp at the crank in bone stock form. talk about a massaged dyno....

as far as the hood. i alway bust Ford guys ***** when they put cowl hoods on their cars. only because the first cowl hood was on the 68 69 Chevelle and 69 Camaro. still looks killer on any car tho.

Pretty sure that distance would continue to widen once heads/cam were thrown into the mix.

It was"Revvin' Evan" Evan J Smith, of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine, and he ran a 12.89 at 109.18.
Then a couple of years later, in summer heat, Campisano got a 325 HP SS to run a 12.96 in the heat of a summer afternoon. Campy, at the time, was the Editor in Chief for Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords. That SS was actually being tested for GMHTP, a sister magazine under the same ownership.
kinda sad the new Camaros can't beat that despite another 111 HP.

What makes you think a 2010 SS cant crack a 12.9? Its already happened numerous times.

Well the new 5.0 has nearly 70 more hp than a stock ls1 but is only 2-3 mph faster.
