p.s is that really a chevy style hood? i just went with whats easiest. They dont make any fiberglass parts for the 68' so i bought a steel cowl. I thought it would give me a few inches to add a spacer but in the end, my air cleaner barely rubs the top of the hood as it is at idle without a carb spacer i got lucky it just BARELY fit.

oh gosh dont get me started on the old timers and their overrated old engines. "yeah my old 1967 _____ had 300 horsepower from the factory. Oh yeah those were the good ole days"......when in reality most of those cars put out closer to 30% less than advertised.

as far as the hood. i alway bust Ford guys ***** when they put cowl hoods on their cars. only because the first cowl hood was on the 68 69 Chevelle and 69 Camaro. still looks killer on any car tho.

Actually it was a 12.8 wasn't it? They're testing the new 5.0 in cooler air as well, it's not exactly the blazing heat of July-Aug now is it? I'm not saying it's a slow car I'm just saying it's taken well over a decade for them to match or slightly better the performance of an LS1 and to me that's not overly impressive.
Then a couple of years later, in summer heat, Campisano got a 325 HP SS to run a 12.96 in the heat of a summer afternoon. Campy, at the time, was the Editor in Chief for Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords. That SS was actually being tested for GMHTP, a sister magazine under the same ownership.
kinda sad the new Camaros can't beat that despite another 111 HP.
