Default New Era Streetsweeper cam dyno results flowmaster catback and open cutout vids are up

I just got off the phone with Mike from New Era Performance. Service is great at New Era, dropped it off tuesday night, picking it up tomorrow(friday) not too shabby. Ill post graphs once I get them.

I have results thru flowmaster catback and also cutout open. Picking it up tomorrow.

My mods are in my sig, cam specs are below.

405 rwhp 387 rwtq cutout open
397 rwhp 378 rwtq thru the flowmaster catback

So I gained 8hp and 9tq with the cutout

Specs Int Exh

Duration @ .050 236 240

Lift .630 .612

LSA : 111

That does not make the flowmaster look so bad...many people post how badly the flowmaster performs...8/9 is a small gain with cutout open. Not like you might expect with a "restrictive" exhaust.

Yeah, I didnt think there would be really any difference. Its not like you can feel the 8hp 9tq. It does sound alot better though with the cutout open but its nice to have it quiet when I need it.

Mike said that I could gain some more power if I went with the American racing headers and a Fast intake. I paid about $1600 for the headers, y pipe, gaskets, stage 8 bolts, extensions, BBK TB and Intake. The Fast intake, TB and American racing headers setup would have cost me $3000 so I dont think the $1400 was worth the 15hp.

That's great to finally see some direct testing dune with the Flowmaster exhaust. A lot of people make it out to be way worse than it actually is. Glad I seen this as I was getting ready to change the exhaust for something less restrictive. I think I can live with less than 10 hp restriction though lol.

Got any vids of the beast?

I was actually out of town so I didnt get up there to witness the dyno. I am picking it up today and of course will post some video. I got a new Sony video camera, going to have to try it out

I plan on taking it to the track sometime. My cousin has a mustang and my other buddy does also, both with superchargers.

Pretty much the same gains that I get with my cutout vs Borla catback and my brother got with his cutout vs Magnaflow catback. Everyone always loves bashing the Flowmaster but I've never really seen proof if its suckage.

Default Heres the graph

Here is the graph. I had to drill the IAC airway larger. It was idling at like 500 and then coming up to 900, kinda hard to drive. Seems better now. Ill get some vids soon. Put about 100 miles on it so far, changed the oil. Runs great, I do get some surging anything around 1500 rpms.

this is so true! I always see people bash the flowmaster catback, especially the newbs in the gen3 external section... In reality I have seen a few cars dyno with the flowmaster catback vs cut out and only pick up 5-8whp.

Default Here are some vids

Here are the vids, the first video, I had to drill a bigger hole in the TB, next was a little better. I would like to lower the idle a bit too. The sound is good, I moved the camera too fast so the pic stinks
