Default Got my car dyno tuned today....

Like the title says. I got a dyno tune. At a glance it looks great but in reality it is only a 5-7 hp gain. The torque converter locking up caused a spike that gives a false reading. Anyway here it is.

little on the lean side there buddy....the A/F should be 13.1:1 or so....youre at around 14:1 the entire graph

Yeah but that is where it made the most power. Everytime we made it richer it lost about 5-10 hp reguardless of the timing. The tuner thinks it is my GMS MAF. He says I would make as much power or more with the stock MAF. Oh well. The 355 rwhp is the base line pull. You can see that the A/F looks better on the final pull than it did on the first. Needless to say I am disappointed. But there isn't anything I can do right now.

Dude I agree with your tuner go back to a stock maf, other than the A/F I dont think the #'s are that bad. TQ numbers are pretty descent, does it feel strong on the street?

Dump the GMAF and try a stock descreened MAF.I had mine tuned at 12:8 A/F with good results. Did you A-tap the runs for KR?

Pretty good I guess. I was hoping for a legit 375 rwhp. I thought that would be pretty easy to reach with a cam, headers, and a ORY.
It just sucks that all of the money that I have spent on the car and that is all of the hp that I get. It is discouraging. I wish I had a M6!!

Yes. It knocked one time in 8 dyno pulls.

14:1 on the dyno is going to be way lean under load on the street. I would richen it up or be prepared to pay the piper... I would hate to read your next post of my pistons have holes in them... BTW that A4 with a TR224, headers and a Stall Converter would eat a comperable 6 speed up at the track. I ran 11.70 @ 115 with a simular setup to what you have but with a smaller cam.

yes it needs to be around 12.5 or so on a dyno jet, notice how it was richened up and it made more power? that needs to be done untill it stops making more power and then richened up about a half point more, atleast on a dynojet. on the street it will lean up that extra half point or so.

We made it richer and it lost power imediately. It was reading around 347 rwhp with the A/F at 13.1. The difference in power that you see there was made in timing.

nope doesnt change my mind...just because it doesnt knock on a dyno(less load) doesnt mean it wont knock on teh street(more load) thats why youll hear people bickering to see A/F ratios when a car makes an abnormal amount of power is because sometimes tuners will lean out the a/f ratio which will make more power but then its not the way a car should be driven on the street or at a track with a 20mph head wind.

I would be more worried how it did at the track then what it put on the dyno. Dyno racing is for supras. I can understand why you might be upset but go to the track and see what it does, might change your mind.

I made 348 rwhp there with 224-228-581-112+2, 4.10's, Borla, lid, descreen maf, so don't feel bad. I have a 6 speed. Getting ready for Pacesetters myself so we'll almost have twins. I was at 13.0 -1 or so on A-F. On street tires I ran a 12.53 @ 114 with no practice.

Dyno numbers mean nothing. You are capable of beating M6's with 30-40 more hp.Dont worry what the #'s say
