Default 484/445 6.0 w/ TFS 225's&Fast 92

Jonathan tuned a very stout package end of last week that one of our customers put together himself. It's a pretty basic package IMO because it doesn't have any of the small horsepower adding modifications like a EWP, still has A/C, no under drive pulley etc. The combination consists of:

6.0 short-block
TFS CNC 225cc cylinder heads@10.75:1 compression
Yella Terra 1.7 rocker arms
Fast 92mm, Nick Williams 92mm TB
Off the shelf Comp Cams 235/243 .621"/.624" 113+4 camshaft
Kooks 1x7/8" headers w/ Kooks 3" ORY w/ 3" cut-out
Corsa Cat-back 3" exhaust
SD tuned
Stock T56

The cut-out was open for this pull and unfortunately we didn't dyno it with it closed. Looking at the graph I think there is a little valve float after 6700rpm which is why it nose-dives and doesn't stay flatter before slowly dropping off. I've seen this a lot with the heavy TFS solid stem valves, Yella Terra Rockers, and aggressive lobes. We have discussed this with Keith our customer, and we will either be swapping the 5/16" push rods for tapered 3/8" push rods, or swapping back to stock rockers and having PM guides installed in the heads.

Even though we didn't put this together I thought it would be a good graph to show everyone about this issue and how much power can be made from a simple well thought out set-up with a great set of heads.

The power curve is very impressive, the torque for a 364 is sickening. Goes to show what a larger bore can do for an already potent cylinder head.

Here's one in RPM:

Very nice results. I notice the CR isnt very high...Is this using the LQ4 shortblock with the dished pistons?

Is the FAST ported?

Yes this is using the stock short-block with the 6.7cc dished factory pistons along with an out of the box Fast 92.

I've always pushed the 92's over the 102's mainly because of the modifications the 102 requires to work over the 92 and I truly believe the 92 is more than capable of meeting the airflow requirements of a 346-370 cubic inch motor.

Then you know it gets out of its own way pretty good then!

BTW guys I made a mistake, the car has TFS 225's not 215's. I apologize.

Damn nice torque, martin can i ask u a quick question? From the cam guy perspective like you, what variable would affect torque numbers and curve?

Not personally, but we have mainly just stepped up the diameter to keep deflection at bay. A 11/32 would be my second choice in .100-.120 wall.

Overlap and when you open the exhaust valve. Those two are effected most by lsa and exhaust duration. Also important but slightly less IMO is intake valve open and close as that determines when and where the curve peaks, but overlap and evo shape the curve itself.

Very nice power! Alot higher than what I would have suspected! Shouldn't take much to push it over the 500 mark.

Keith do you race this car? I'm curious what it would trap with the 6 speed. I'd think 125mph wouldn't be a problem. Congrats on the good results.

That thing is definitely making some good power...and still has more left in it!
