Default Final FMS 228 114 in A4 numbers

Got my car tuned today. All graphs are SAE corrected. I dont have an LS6 yet and my pulley is not going to be installed till next week. The IAT's were 94 today as apposed to 60 something during the very first dyno session.

Also, Mike said that the 2.73's were accually hurting my numbers because of the heat, friction, and drag caused by such high speed runs (He had to spin it up to 172 just to get peak HP ) So, all in all, Im happy with the gains, and I know there is plenty more to be had. Hopefully, the track numbers will show the true gains and power of my set-up.

The first graph is all 3 runs with the cutout closed, It is being read by MPH so that the "estimated" gear ratio from the dyno jet readings will be closer between the 3 runs and show a better comparison of the gains. Also, I posted this graph to show the a/f ratio. It was around 12.8 for most of the run. Run 1) 303.2 HP Run 2) 313.6 HP Run 3) 324.4 HP

The second graph are the 3 best runs with the cutout open from each dyno session. Convertor UNLOCKED. Overall, I gained 29HP and 19.2 TQ through an Auto without all the bolt-on's. Run 1) 312.8 HP/387.2 TQ Run 2) 328.4 HP/379.7 TQ Run 3) 341.8 HP/396.4 TQ

The last graph is a LOCKED reading, cutout open in Second Gear. The reason why he chose 2nd for this graph was to show a "more accurate" reading of my locked HP. Because of the 2.73's I made less HP in 3rd. He basically stated that this number would be closer to a tradional 3.42 gear set up in 3rd. All the other Dyno runs I have posted were in 3rd, however. Run 1) 359.1 HP/ 349.0 TQ

Once again, sorry for the poor quality pics, I still havent went out to buy a new scanner (How can I when there are still so many mods to complete ) I know its no T-Rex cam , but the powerband is great for my daily driver and the drivability is like stock after the tune. Hope you guys enjoy the info. Ill see if I can get some better pics up later in this thread. Take Care.

that vig isn't really a 2800 is it? check out my dyno on the flash stall of the tci ssf3500 it hit alot lower. hmm. Must get bigger stall.

Not bad you'll probably join the ranks of 360-370whp once you get the intake/asp on.

time to hit the track man. happy or not you got a low 12 second car maybe 11's if everything is just right. Hope you got some serious cooling for the tranny for this hot summer. I'm working on the big qt pan and tweaking the fans to run lower to help out on the trans cooler (or maybe 2 trans coolers or a muffin fan)

good to see more dyno's for A4. It's always m6 this m6 that

p.s. might go log some shift point runs. I found the desired on my tranny was 200 over what actual was. So before the tuner gets too far go log some runs. I originally has 6200,6300,6300 which yielded 6000,6089, oddly. If you don't tweak those down as high as you dare you will probably not get the good shift extension and lose some 1/10th's . i reset to 6600,6800,6800 and get shifts of 6400,6600 with shift extension of 5010rpm, but im still pulling back to 8 degrees on shifts, oddly. Gotta make sure your tq mgmt is right on for your graph. I'm running 30.5 degrees timing at 6000+ with no knock.

peace

Yea the M6 numbers are far more abundant than the A4's thats for sure.

The guys that tuned the cam for me didnt re-adjust the TQ convertor and shift extentions sad to say. I tried to save some money by doing the bare minimum for the tune so all in all I saved $200 bucks.

I figured I would be adding and intake, gears, SS4000, and a 150 wet shot soon, so I would wait till after and make that my final tune. Im sure I could get a bit more out of it as it sits but we have to use that crappy 91 octane here in Commiefornia so Im having to run a lot less timing than I would like. Also, the a/f is pretty conservative (12.8 at its highest) for what he normally tunes the cars for. He said most he tunes to 13 and a few all the way up to 13.2.

The VIG is a 2800, allegedly, it acts like a larger stall based on its parameters and its shift extensions. Thanks for the response.

It is very smooth on the 114. It has a slight lope, just enough for people to know you have a cam. It idles fine. I wish I would have had the money to tune it the same day I installed the cam though.

I had to drill the TB out A LOT just to keep it from dying. I drove it around for a week powerbraking it to 1k. Now the idle is still too high for my tastes because the hole is now too big for a low idle. It idles fine now around 1k, but I think it would be better around 800 rpm, and sound better as well.

Ill probably end up epoxing the hole back up and drilling back it to stock or get a TB plate from another TB somewhere.
