ARH 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 headers

I will post the graph as soon as I pick up the car. Track times to follow.

Thanks! I'm just happy that the car gained 50hp and almost 30tq over my last setup. I'm really not sure what rpm they took it up to, I didn't ask them when I had them on the phone. I will get more details when I pick the car up.

I think mine peaked around 6900 and carried power to a little over 7100 and then started to drop off.

Very good numbers. Do you know if they locked up the converter?

Damn good numbers right there. I'm curious how much your port work on the heads helped? I would think a set of aftermarket, or CNC's 243/799 heads, would have put you right around 470. Looking forward to seeing the dyno graph.

I'm pretty sure the converter was locked for that pull.

The old setup was

228/230 comp cam on a 112lsa
Comp 5/16 pr's
Pac 1518 beehive springs with TI retainers
LS6 intake with ported stock tb
same heads (not milled though)
Stock balancer
Pacesetter headers
over the axle 3" true duals with an x pipe

This setup made 403/391
Same dyno and similar humid air

One awesome, well planned and well executed combination with great parts.

There is no one single part here that allowed this combination to shine.

Most would say going from true 3" duals with an x-pipe to a y-pipe would be foolish. When you have headers that can scavenge as well as the ARH(I love the stepped 1x3/4" to 1x7/8" on a deal like this), along with a quality y merge you get results like this.

Not only that, the stiff larger diameter push rods and quality lifters actually allow the camshaft to operate around its designed parameters.

The bowl work and Fast intake really round out the combo for sure.

That 4500 stall and this combo is going to kick *** at the track!

The biggest deciding factor for me was the weight savings going from full 3" duals to the 4" y pipe setup. Also, if you think about the design of an x vs a y they are very similar in the way they scavenge, but you are correct that it is Important to buy a good y pipe if you are going to use one. I'm hoping to have it to the track in the next few weeks as long as the weather is decent.
