Default TEA Stg. 2.5 LS6 heads/G5X3 cam makes 447rwhp/400rwtq today

The car runs like a beast on motor......no belts removed, 0 tricks of any kind, 10.9:1 compression, 28 degrees of timing. All runs through a Moser 12 bolt w/ 4.10s, huge/heavy 18x10.5 wheels, 30 psi in all the tires. This is a fairly new (couple thousand miles) forged 347 shortblock.

Old setup made 433rwhp/398rwtq on the same dyno in 70 degree weather with the following different mods different than what was on the car today....

Old mods:
TEA Stg. 2 5.3L heads 10.8:1 compression
TR 230/224 .576/.563 110.8 LSA Cam
15lb Aluminum flywheel
9lb carbon fiber driveshaft
17x9.5 rims (10lbs lighter each than new wheels, giving me 10rwhp more on dyno than new wheels)
3.73 gears
LS6 manifold

Today's different mods in 100 degree weather:

TEA Stg. 2.5 LS6 Massengale Hand Finished Heads 10.9:1 compression
LG G5X3 cam on a 112LSA
30lb steel flywheel
15lb carbon fiber driveshaft
18x10.5 rims (10lbs heavier than old wheels & cost 10rwhp on dyno)
4.10 gears
78mm LSX manifold

All my other mods remained the same.

Given the changes in both weather and mods from the last dyno sessions at this shop, I'm very happy. Next mods are a 90mm intake/TB and an EWP.

Now bottle was another story. I made 540ish rwhp/525rwtq roughly on a 100 shot, and no more power than that on a 150 shot. Something just isn't right. I should be making a little more power than that on a 100 shot and especially more on the 150 shot. Something may be wrong with the nitrous solenoid. I'm going to have the nitrous solenoid rebuilt to hopefully fix that.

On both a 100 and 150 shot, I was running around 10:1 a/f ratio up to around 3000rpms I believe, and from 3000-5000rpms I was running in the 9.5:1 a/f ratio range, and from 5000+ it went back to low 10s:1 a/f ratio. We would have to go much leaner on the fuel jets than the NX recommended charts to get a somewhat normal A/F ratio.

I will post the dyno graphs as soon as they're emailed to me; videos of my race can be found here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...58#post1777058 . Track results coming late in October for sure, or possibly sooner if I have time.

Big thanks to Nic00Z28M6 for the awesome tune, SS on Your Six for all the work on the motor, and Keith @ AZ Dyno Chip for hanging around super late for me to dyno tonight.

Default Not enough Nitrous

The A/F suggests that the nitrous flow is not what it should be.

Nice numbers, sure that your bottle didn't get cold and lost some pressure for the 150 run?

Yes, had the bottle heater running (plus it was 100 degrees outside), and we made sure the pressure was at 1100psi for each pull.

Very nice! When are you going to ditch the 78mm FAST set-up and go with a 90mm intake & TB. This should get you close to 460 RWHP.

No offense to you Verbs, or TEA but those #'s are very low considering the 2.5 LS6 head and that size cam along with the LSX. Even through a 12 bolt you should be knocking down 450-460 rwhp easily considering the mods done.

Sorry, just call 'em like I see 'em.

Even in 100 degree weather with heavier wheels?
