Default NLP 383 2001 Z06 Dyno Results - 508RWHP

Hey All,

Just finished up a project for one of out out of state customers. The setup is a stroker 383, AFR 225's, 11.3-1 compression, 240/244 113 XER, BPP intake, NLP 90mm TB, FAST 90 Int, EWP, UD Pulley, TPIS LT's w/ OR pipes, Borla Stingers. Car still has a steel flywheel and 3.42 gears.

She put down 508RWHP and 466RWT SAE with 29* timing, 12.8-1 AF and 93 pump gas. Just thought I would share and see what folks think. Thanks.

Default Nice...

Damn Mike...

On your dyno?

Seriously....excellent numbers in my book.

Not very many 383's making that power (and the TQ is strong as well)...

You and Jeff hitting SEMA? Drop in and say hello if you guys are attending.

Regards,
Tony

Very nice Do you think going to a 402ci with no other changes would have bumped it to the 530rwhp range?

Holy smokes, that some kickin' power! And you're not running a huge cam either. Very impressive. The torque numbers look like 427 numbers from a few years ago, LOL.

Hey All,

Thanks for the kind words for sure. Surprised me also as you know we have the "humbler" for a dyno.

Tony,

We will be there for sure and catch up on things. I am sure the rest of the guys will be there also.

Vince,

Thats exactly what he is thinking. but heck it will not hook on the street now. You gotta get buy here and see the new shop.

ddnspider,

Street manners are mot too bad, but you can imagine a cam that big in a 383 will not act stock. Let me know when you are ready.

V8er,

I guess it would be possible, but I am not much of a speculation kind of guy. This thing is making more power then some 427-436's with larger cams. Just get a good one once in a while.

Patrick,

You know me and to me that is a big cam. Call it old man-itus.

Thanks again.

Mmmm sounds like my next project for my 02 Z06-it's still alot cheaper to do that than go out and buy the new Z06-it should hold me over for awhile. Nice results! I would love to hear a sound clip at idle. Do you find the BBP intake with the lid on a restriction on the dyno? I found 10 horse by taking the lid off-more air from the fan get's in and can better simulate airflow going down the track.

Mike...

Anyway of getting a gragh posted on here for all to view....would like to see the "curve" (both TQ and HP) and also where they both peak (I'm guessing around 5500 on the TQ and probably 6800 on the HP)....I'm surprised no one else has asked yet.....LOL

See you at SEMA

Thanks,
Tony

Traction is always a problem. He needs tires for sure. I have not been to Orlando in so long if it was not for the signs on I4 I would not know how to get there. I have been meaning to visit everyone, but I work for the local cable company and Verizon has us humping. I pretty much work seven days a week. I will try to sneak up there b4 the end of the year..

Thanks again to everyone for the kind words, except maybe Patrick I am sure there could be a few more horses with a different intake, but this is what we had to work with and not too bad.

Sorry Tony, but the peaks were at 46-4700 RWT and 65-6600 RWHP smarty pants See you in a couple days.

Vince, look forward to seeing you over here.

Later all.

Mike I noticed the specs said TPIS headers. Do you think there would be any gains going to the Kooks 1 3/4 or 1 7/8's with either the 3"x3" intermediate pipe or the 3"x2.5"?

Very nice, make me wander what I need to do to bump my 395 stroker power up.
I have almost the same cam you used. 240/244 610, 112 ls.
I have the TPIS headers and stock mid pipes w/xpipe.
My 395 made 489 and 470 on the best pull ave. 480 and 460
