Default 228/232 588/592 110+1- Final Dyno Run

Last Friday 11.10.06 was my last dyno run with this cam. I have purchased a G5X3 cam that I had planned on installing after this dyno but the car runs too damn good to tear it apart again. I don't know if I am ready to give up my bottom end power for peak numbers. I was ultimately trying to see how close to 500rwhp I could get out of a stock bottom end. I am still up in the air about it but I wanted to share my most recent dyno graph.

My current combo:
AFR 205's milled .020
Cometic .040 gaskets
228/232 588/592 110+1 installed w/4* advance
LG PRO headers- no cats
Mamo Ported Fast 90 / LS2 TB
SLP 25% UD pulley
SLP adjustable dbl roller timing chain
Stock LS6 shortblock- No flycutting
Tuned by Jason at MTI in Houston

This is Patrick G's TQ cam. I am working on getting some sound clips loaded for you guys but bare with me on that. This is my third head and cam combo and I have been very impressed with it since the day I installed it. For those of you who would like a no compomise cam that makes great bottom end power without sacrificing peak numbers, you will love this cam. My car idles just over 900RPMs (A little choppy but not as bad as the 112lsa I was running before) and I get no surging or bucking at all.

This is my 3rd head and cam combo in the last 6 months and it will more than likely be the last, ole' lady gave me the okay for a 427!!

Peak numbers are pretty impressive at 451 RWHP and 421RWTQ- Corrected Numbers. Take a moment to look at the TQ curve. That should give you a pretty good idea of how this car runs on the street.

I just can't say enough about this combo Patrick and Tony have helped me put together.

Lowest TQ and HP curves where from before I installed the LG Pro's and Mamo Ported Fast intake. I gained 40 RWTQ from 2300-3300 and peak TQ increase of 12ftlbs. I also gained about 13RWHP from 2300-3300 and increased my peak numbers by 15RWHP!! Very impressive work LG and Tony!!

If you have a video of the car idleing please post it. I been soo wanting this cam, or something with the same specs but Im afraid its too lopy and I live in California and all the cops are A holes around here. I would be getting tickets left and right.

Thanks

The car sounds smooth J.R.T! You know who wants your set-up once you build that 427. Good luck with that shift light. If you haven't taken care of it by the time I come back in town, I'll help you out again.

hey JR, it was great talking to you today about your car. Congrats on the results. Can't wait to see what you come up with for your 427 project. Should be killer.

I would love to run against you next time I am at LG Motorsports. I'll give you a call.

Stay in touch bro, and have fun with her until the 427 is ready. Congratulations.

would have a 105 icl right?
IT would seem so, so he has a 39 abdc with a 105icl, but he peaks at 6200rpms, so that cant be right, unless im missing something

im going 228 232 111+1

great looking dyno

I haven't made it to the track yet. I have been doing most of my runs on the street. Also, my clutch and slave are jacked. I am still deciding which one I want to go with. I hope to have one installed within the next couple weeks and then see what the times come out like. I'll be sure to keep you guys posted.

bad6as you interested in anything slightly bigger? Might be taking my cam out for a heavy nitrous setup.

i have a 228/232 .600/.600 on a 112lsa... i installed it dot to dot... is this the optimal way to intall this cam? never thought about using an adjustable timing set. mine feels like its making good power too. Ill post up an idle clip for the guy up in the thread from Cali that wants to hear it.

1LoudTA, when I advance my cam, I picked up 12RWHP and 14RWTQ through out the power curve. I'm not sure how much I would advance your cam but it made a difference for me.

first of all, GREAT numbers! this is a very popular cam with the guys that know what they're doing (Slowhawk and PatrickG) and I can see why!

My cam is a custom grind almost identical to you (or the same, I don't have the specs in front of me) and I'm running the PRC new CNC design 243's with the larger intake valves. I already have LG Streets and Z06 Ti's, so with the new cam, textrailia, heads and LS6 intake I'm hoping for similar numbers. I'm picking up the car hopefully tomorrow (AFR shorted us one washer and its holding the whole show up)....and I'll be tuning it over the next week or so and then heading to the dyno to get some numbers.

I'm excited to hear how my cam sounds and how it performs, it sounds like a great DD cam with some SERIOUS power!
