LS1 vs. Weiand or BBK, LS6 vs Weiand or BBK graphs
Anyone have any before and after graphs of adding a Weiand or BBK intake? I cant seem to find any. Even on that metal intake thread there arent any graphs. On BBK's website they say it flows 15% better than the LS6, but on the Weiand it doesn't really say anything about it.
I'd like to see graphs, not people saying that they could feel the differance.

On the intake question, I'd also be interested as I bought the Weiand Lingenfelter intake. They guy I bought mine from said he traded his LS6 & some cash for this one & he felt a difference over the LS6.

Waiand & LS6 are same but waiand is Alu so makes alot more heat so less power! Best way to go a LS6 and if you want looks just sand it down and have it painted like a car like i did! Silver

I got my coils for 200 bucks, I couldnt pass up the deal. A friend of mine had one of his msd coils not fire and they send him 9. I told him I'd give him 200 bucks for the other 8.
Still no one has put up any graphs. Professional Products intake would work too.

I'm not worried about the heat. I have nitrous and I do not want a backfire to destroy my intake. Polymer is going to explode if a nitrous backfire happens.
I know several people with aluminum intakes on ls1's and does not put off very much heat. You can hold your hand on there as long as you want. Heat soak is not a concern.

Maybe while sitting at a stop light not moving, but you really don't need power then do ya?? Heat soak is more B.S. than some want to believe. If your car is moving & fresh cool air is comming in the intake, its not in there long enough to heat up. And then if your sprayin nitrous I gaurentee at the end of your run that intake will be ice cold.

Heres some old threads I've found pertaining to the weiand/lingenfelter vs all
The first one has dyno information for many manifolds so dont let the title fool you.

hell hear ya go
LS1 = 419.7HP@4700 / 416.0TQ@5800
LS6 = 425.5HP@4700 / 421.0TQ@5700
6.0L Truck = 427.9HP@4700 / 419.0TQ@5900
F.A.S.T. LSX = 426.2HP@4800 / 427TQ@5900
Wieand/Lingenfelter = 411.2HP@4800 / 408.6TQ@6000
as far as the heat! ok you can get ls1 f-bodyss. One with a ls6 intake and one with a Wieand intake and drive side by side then stop and fell both intakes! I bet the Wieand will be way hotter! As far as nitrous you dont always have nitrous! Why do you think all the mustang guys have the throw bags of ice on their intakes? Heats sucks! Why would you add something that makes more heat and less power!!!

Weiand/lingenfelter say that because they sell it! Hell have you seen big ebay chip that gives you 30+hp! Saying and doing are to different things! The reason why i do not like the Weiand is becuase i saw a swap on the dyno and saw Weiand come off and the ls6 intake go on and saw it pick up 8whp so that's why i do not like the Weiand! They even had the intake cold b4 the dyno run! I dont want to no the number's if the intake was hot

this made up bull **** were are the graphs.after the intake alone my car pulled hard all the way to rev limit ill say it again the weiand is the same as the ls6 except it being metal.why would weiand and jon lingerfelter design an intake that would kill hp.if anyone believes these made up hp graphs you need help

I want to see some before & after DYNO graphs. Not hear say. I also don't believe with the quality that the Lingenfelter name carries, that he would put his name on a inferior product.
I will say that there are known problems with the early versions of the Weiand Lingenfelter intake, but all those issues have since been resolved. Everyone who is currently running one that I have talked to is very happy with it.

Think of it this way, if that Weiand was so good a lot of people would be using it and there would be a lot of information on it. Guess what? Not very many people using it huh? Why would you want to increase the susceptibility of heat soak when you can use an intake that flows just as well if not better and is made of a nylon material thats not so susceptable to heat soak? Dont try and sit here and tell me that heat soak isnt a problem either because if that was the case mustang and lt1 owners wouldnt be icing down their intakes etc.

Once again the heak soak deal isn't as bad a problem as some want to believe. If you actually take a minute to think of how the air travels through the intake you would know its not inside the intake long enough to make your engine breathe hot air. If you think it is, your wrong.
I'm not sayin the intake won't get hotter just sitting with the motor running & no air flowing through it, but you don't need power sitting still. After driving it & gettin fresh cooler air coming in, it will cool off.
Once again where are the actual graphs & not just believers in heat soak throwin in their opinion. Me as well as other owners of metal intakes could care less if your against metal intakes & are hung up on heat soak. We want solid facts & graphs. So far no one has provided any.
I didn't read anywhere that the original poster asked for people to start a debate about weather composite is better or not. We just want graphs, not opinions.
