I believe it. That's a BIG cam and he's got LS6 heads. The heads alone give him a 20 rwhp head start over LS1 heads. I've tuned a few T-Rex cam only LS1 headed cars (FAST 90/90, headers with HVMC) and gotten over 450 rwhp so 460ish with LS6 heads is believable.

Ive heard the rumors about the dyno that was used too. Not sure how much truth is in that claim though. Either way good numbers.

Id still take a way smaller cam with a decent set of heads over that giant cam any day.

I can see it. It's a vette too. They seem to be dynoing higher than our f-bodys.

I dunno I had 243 heads and I gained maybe 10 hp.

Maybe the dyno needs to be re calibrated or something.....Hard to believe, but look at T56 Rebuilds.com's car it was pushing almost 500 rwhp cam only.

Vettes dyno higher when they run long tubeheaders with HVMCs like the LG Pro long tubes. Us F-body guys don't have near as good of exhaust as the Y-body crowd.

I've found Vette's have always dyno'd higher.Anything is believable nowadays. The sad part is that we've dyno'd alot of these high hp cars from other shops and they lose a ton on our dyno.

Biggest difference is what you use it for. If you dont care about low end torque go the cheap route, if you want it and still want to make power up top, you have to set the combo up to work together. I agree with him, I would much rather my setup and the low end it has over a high end screamer, but I drive my car on the street 99% of the time and 1% at the track.

It aint about peak HP man. There are other things such as drivability issues that big cam only setups just dont have for the most part.

I like to spend my $$ on a well thought out setup, not a cam only setup. Just one mans opinion, none of you should care what i do with my $$ anyway.

It is fun spending money on a better driving car rather than a big peak hp street dog. Im not saying that the car in this thread is like that but that is the case with lots of cam only cars. Either way dude made big numbers.

I totally believe it. I am making 431 with the same cam, same dyno, LS1 heads, and LS6 intake. Numbers seem on point for the mods. Nice numbers man.
