Default Anyone seen big cube lsx 4xx ci numbers yet?

Has anyone seen any info / dyno #'s or times from the LSX block? I mean people that are running larger then 427 ci. Like a 440 or 454? Or any lsx motors in general.. i'm interested.

thanks!

Yeah, I saw that. I was more thinking like street / strip cars.

454ci, ls7 heads and intake, hyd roller.... yadda yadda. something any one of us could put into our cars with a decent drivetrain and play around with.

Guess there's not to many of them out yet. only the big dogs have them as of now.

That was 235 Trick flow heads, and a huge cam. He swapped the cam for a smaller one and said it was around 600.

ET doesn't make a 235 head..

Default lsx

We made in the 920's with our 440 inch with a single 4 barell Tbody on a cast intake. I think you will see a lot of cars coming in over the 600 mark soon in street trim.

I should have a graph this afternoon and track results on the 19th.

ET doesn't make a 235 head..
It's not listed on their website but, I e-mailed them several months ago and got a price quote. If I remember right, the 235 is supposed to be really strong at building midrange power.

That's awesome, Cary!

I'd like to build a motor soon with hyd roller that did over 650 rw. Looks like I'll have to wait for the tall deck though. I'm sure 650 rw will be a breeze with a 4.250 or larger crank and a 4.185 + bore.

Only thing i'd worry about is a head flowing up with 470 - 500 ci engine!

i would worry about intakes for 450+ inch LSX (if you want it to fit under a stock hood and cowl)

I'm sure beck could fab something up that would fit under a stock hood and flow for a motor that big.

I talked to John last week about making an ls7 style sheet metal that would fit under my stock ss hood and flow up to par with a set of all pro heads on a 454 lsx and he said it was no problem. He also said he just made that exact intake for tsp a week before.

I've been debating whether or not to just bite it now and build a 454, or wait til the first quarter of 08 and build a bigger motor with the tall deck....

I did the numbers in the sig on a Mustang Dyno with a nine inch and a built for street daily driver duties (although its far from daily driven)

The car drives like a 230 duration cam car with very good tuning. The peak numbers don't tell the whole story.

My setup is FAR from ideal to make power with Cats, SLP dual dual exaust, MAF and heads that were really more suitable for a 388 that used to be in the car. But driveability for the power is ridiculous. I can start it at 5:30 am without pissing the neighbors off and it passed OR emissions. It is way more power than the Nittos can handle under 65mph.....

I'll post the graph and vid this weekend just trying to find time!!

Thats a very important point John. My 421 solid roller runs out of air at 6200rpm with a ported FAST.
