Custom 246/250 .630/.629 113+3
SSP/GTP-prepped 862 castings 2.055"/1.570" valves
Stock LS6 intake
Ported Stock TB
Stock bellows
Stock MAF
Beat up Kooks 1 7/8" headers
Custom 3" duals

Steel flywheel, steel DS, 12-bolt w/ 3.73's, chrome 18's, no dyno tricks. He needs a 90/90 setup bad and a bigger MAF to accompany it. It is a very streetable setup though. Hopefully he will take it to the track soon.

Looks like alot of you are making some real nice 408 #'s they are great motors.
These #s are everywhere...look at the mods though and you can see somewhat of a pattern. Updated to 538/490.

SDPC 408 iron block (Callies internals)
TEA stg III 6.0L heads
custom grind 248/254 615/613 113LSA cam
ASP pulley
Kooks 1-7/8 headers
cutout
airlid
FAST 90mm intake manifold

drivetrain:
T-56
10-bolt with 3.73 gear
17" Z06 replicas

I need a ported FAST 90 setup, and a tune. After playing with timing and adjusting the A/F a bit, along with a FAST 90, this thing should hit the 550RWHP mark without any problems - and the best part is that I am using GM heads; not AFR's or ETP's! 6.0L heads rule - especially when TEA has done them.

EDIT: My CR is only 11.2:1 also! I could have easily gone to 11.8 with no problems and made even more power
These are dynojet corrected (done on superflow gives lower # than dynojet).

Hey Ron
I haven’t had time to post up the results on ls1tech things have been really busy lately since im buying a new house. Here is the graph though in case you want to throw it up.I think it came out pretty damn good considering its set up for the spray and it only has 350 miles on the motor. For the tune we only put in 26 degrees of timing so im sure its gonna pick up with more timing to.
Thanks

Cole

And a hyd roller cam 402 that runs 9.92 on MOTOR first night out!

The car started out as a 1994 Firebird V6. Now its a Trans Fire Hawk Am whatever. Sorta a Firehawk, just with that ugly TA front bumper.

Rick bough the shell 18 months ago and started building this car. His goal was 10.0 all motor. I told him build the car to go faster and if you run faster its just gravy. Im glad he took my advise the car came out really great. Nice paint job, nice cage, chassis and engine bay. It doesnt look like a stripped race that you see so much off. Very nicely done.

Here are some specs of the car. Rick can fill in the rest.

All Motor 402 12.1 Comp
242/248 Comp Cam
QTP 1 3/4 Prototype F BodyTri Y Headers into Flowmaster Race Mufflers
Cartek Dyno Tuned
Cartek Ported fast Intake NW 90mm TB
TH400 8" Conveter 4500 Stall
Moser 9" 3.89 Spool Rear w/Strange Brakes

We had a track rental set up on tuesday this week to make some virgin passes on the car. But the rain prevented it. I told Rick, i wanted to race on wednesday with the Vette since we didnt get a chance on tuesday and rick was glad because he wanted to race too.

Now first time out you ask yourself, you spent alot of month and time on the car, should i come out easy and get it down the track or come out hard. Rick told me he just wanted to come out and make a half of pass the first time out. Sounded like a good idea since the car has only been driven on and off the trailer.

Well i made a video of some of the passes. Got the important ones on video.

Congrates Rick on your 9 Second Trans/Hawk/Bird/Am/Formula or what ever you call it. Long and hard road but well worth it.

I bought this motor blown up and rebuilt it. With 4 year old junk headers all rusty and smashed up a th400 with a lose nitrous converter and a 9" rear made 437rwhp and the tq spiked to like 6xx so we dont no tq. Made 2 passes right off the trailer and went 10.3x's @ 130 NA. With new 2" headers and the weight were taking out it should hit my goal on a 250 shot

Wow, old post...with more tuning and a FAST 90 it ended up doing 538/490-something SAE a few weeks later.

Talked to Yank and they thought it would be a good match, don't want to flash through it if I decide to spray it.

Mine is what I call a "Gentleman's Cruiser" as opposed to an all out build. I made 501/467 but have made a few more changes and need to get back to the dyno. Probably 15-20 higher now. I made 380RWT at 2200RPM and the tip in is insane. THe car actually drives better than stock with all the torque on demand. It won't see a track except as a spectator. I wore that out years ago. The 403 LS2short block is from SDPC and PHIL99VETTE did the install. EDCMAT-L1 did the cam swap later and dyno stuff. The heads are from Richard at WCCH. That's with 3.90's,, heavy DD clutch, heavy repro wheels, all belts and exactly as I left the dyno. No dyno tricks on this one since I'm not selling anything here.

I can terrorize out small town, use the car to commute in DC rush hour and take it on 500 mile trips without worrying about it.

Doing the math it should be capable of mid 10's or better with tires.

Kevin
Thanks for the info Kevin. Update new numbers 510/470

Nick and his crew put the whole thing together and did all the tuning. Haven't got to have much fun with it yet, just pick it up last night and traffic was backed up on the interstate last night driving back to Greenville, though i did lay into it a few times and i couldnt be more happy. And to day rain so cant really see what it can do just yet, and it is Thanksgiving. Much thanks to Nick, Bob and the rest of his crew at Williams Performance. Thanks again.
