no it wouldn't. Being an LS2 in a tugboat TBSS wouldn't make it monkey stomp an LS1 GTO...both being automatics the GTO would walk away pretty steady. TBSS are nice, but they're not a very fast vehicle by any means (not saying an LS1 gto is very fast but its less of a tugboat) lol

Now thats sad, poor 2V's.

Generally hes not a bs'er...and a fairly smart guy...even w/ cars. Hes not too familiar w/ 4th gen performance and I think he just encountered a really bad c5 driver. You wouldnt need a 6spd either, a auto could hand it its *** just as easy...Ive seen plenty of auto fbodies & GTO's run deep in the lower 13's stock and trap 105 or above, thats close to a second faster then a s2k.

I was speaking specifically of THAT TBSS... 13.30 @ 106mph should be plenty to beat an automatic LS1 GTO. I've only heard of one LS1 GTO automatic running lower than a 13.5, and I haven't heard of any that trap more than 104mph. But if you want to play the "best of" numbers game, the best LS1 A4 GTOs (that I've heard of) ran .2-.3 seconds faster than the fastest S2000s (that I've heard of), and trapped 1-2mph faster.

I'd actually like to see that race honestly. I've seen a couple stock ls1 GTOs trap in the 106 range when they were stock autos but not too awfully many and it also depends on where you're racing.

Like I said when I was bone stock with a horrible 60 ft I ran 13.6 @ 104

with intake headers and catback I went 13.2 @ 109 with an even worse 60 ft lol....

As for the S2k timeslips, I wouldn't know....the only ones I've seen run at the dragstrip are always in the 14's. It seems like they either bog out on the line, or spin excessively and don't shift out of 1st. I don't think I've honestly seen one driven well.

When are guys going to race?
I have to give the win to the GTO but good luck.

My brother had a s2k and it is a fun car to drive in the turns. It was almost like a dirtbike with a power band that kicked in the upper rpm range on each gear.
