Default pre race question...move?

didnt know where to post this quesiton, sorry in advance for making someone mad if this isnt supposed to be posted here lol

i have a 2000 formula, bone stock, a4
my dad has a 2008 gt/cs bone stock, m5

this past summer we both have kinda "raced" i guess you could call it driving together but never actually...well nevermind, question is, what car do you believe is faster? i want to race him when our cars are out of storage next year lol, he would prob smoke me cause he has a major driver mod over me, i have had my DL for 8 months, he was a cop so he can drive.

anyway...thoughts? btw, i have always been a gm guy, but you really cant knock too much about the mustangs, they feel fast and are CLEAN

you have an a4 so driver mod is void, and the gearing on the gt is going to be better.
Go to your car open the driver side door and look in the jam at a sticker on the top with a bunch of letters/numbers if you find gu2 in the mix you have 2.73's=no chance, if you find gu5= 3.23's your odds will go up with the 3.23's should be a fun race and very close.
p.s go the the classifieds and spend $75 on a used lid to put those odds in your favor.
pps manuals beat us in everything but a dig, so a dig is your best chance.

There's literally no way that the OP will "rip" a GT/CS 5spd in a stock A4... especially if the Mustang has 3.55s. It's gonna be a very close race, given his dad can drive.

Okay mustang gt/cs California Special, which means it has less power than a regular gt. I think you will take him. And as for the 2.73s and having no chance, that is bs. Don't get me wrong, your launch sucks, but I still believe you will beat him.

Well I have been wrong before, but that is what the cs stands for right? I was under the impression it had extra emissions stuff on it which would cut some of the power. If not, is just like an appearance package? They had one for sale at a dealership here and I stopped and took a look and it said gt/cs on the side, I had never seen that before.

everything I've read states that the CS add no power, just a appearance package, so the OP's racing a dressed up GT. that said i have no idea if he will win or lose. those newer stangs are getting quicker and the bird isnt modded

Like I said, if the GT has a good driver and 3.55's instead of the 3.31's he will be ahead until 105-115 or so where you will edge him out.

Hmm I'd give it to the Formula. IMO the Mustang looks good, not very fast. We are talking a 50hp difference at the crank no? I know stock LS1's seem to dyno all over the place. I know I have a M6, but when I was exhaust/intake with the stock 3.42's I killed both a vert and a coupe, I wasn't very impressed with the Gt's performance when it came out.
