Today i test drove a 03 Cobra and i really wasnt that impressed i mean it was bone stock but everyone talks about these cars like they are gods gift to the muscle car world....maybe i just wasnt impressed because my 02 T/A is far from stock 393RWHP 373RWTQ......but it just felt like my Trans am would destroy it and i felt like the cobra is a little overated i could be wrong thou....ive only drove ONE and it was stock anyone else think the same or think im wrong (because i could be)
From what I hear that stuff gets you deep 11's easy and you can find the parts used.... to bad those cars are still bringing a pretty penny.

I have both, the cobra is stock and the camaro is a 02 that makes 400 hp cam only. IMO the cobra is more practical to drive than the loud cammed camaro. Stock the camaro ran 13.3 at 108.3. Even if the camaro was stock the cobra would still be more practical. The over all pakage of the 03 cobra is nicer but the camaro ergonomics and interior is a tad better. The 03 cobra has a much smoother power delivery than the ls1. Would I like to build a race car out of a cobra? no. The camaro is a much better platform to make a nasty street car imo. I could have bought a C5 z06 but the c5s imo are starting to look dated and the new z06 destroys it in every way. The gt500 dont destroy the 03/04 cobra. The cobra makes a great daily driver. Different strokes different folks drive what you like.

much lighter than what most consider a street car..
and btw GMmex, we already went over that.. he made it clear he was talking an average cam only ls1.. the record holder for fastest cam only isnt really considered average in my book..
an average trap for a cam only car is around 111-114mph

a full weight car is more impressive to me.. but a car that runs faster time is even more impressive..
so to me a mid 11 car full weight is impressive.. but a high 10 car stripped is even more impressive..

You clearly didn't comprehend what he said and you posted a record holding
cam only car (racecar).
I agree with lemons12. I can't believe I just said that.

I have a question for the guys that drove both and are not fan boys. Just straight open answers.
How is the seating position in the Cobra compared to a WS6 or even a camaro in this case. I find it very awkward and uncomfortable to sit in my T/A. Im not short and I still feel like I am laying down in the car and visibility is absolutely ****. In all honesty, and as pathetic as it sounds, I like driving my neon better then my trans am. It takes me 20 seconds to get comfortable in my dads GXP and see perfectly out of.
*Also, does it have the steering feel like that of a Peterbilt 4th gen F bodies do? My steering is far from light.

I would like to have a cobra, I just don't fit in them very well, 6'6" 275... I drove a 03 Mach 1 and I liked it but the only thing that stopped me from buying it was DD ability, I fit in the camaro better and I do DD it. And since I've been driving the truck for a couple months now driving the camaro DOES feel like riding in a lexus LoL.

Driving my truck everyday on roads around here is hell. I get in my Camaro on a nice day and feel so relaxed. Then my friends say I'm crazy because F-bodies are supposedly "horribly uncomfortable." To those people I just say, "try driving around in a lifted truck as old as mine, rowing through gears, all day. Then come back and tell me how uncomfortable a F-body is."
