well who would win? Ive been searching for kill stories but can't find any.
a salesman at my work bought a new M3 and wants to run me. I think I might lose this one, they have 414 hp and rev to at least 8k rpms.
I have a bolt on WS6, m6.

You should have a bit more than 400 engine hp more like 425 or so. So on power you should be close if they are not underated like the ls1 were. It could come down to hook up if its 1/4 mile off a dig. Roll on would think your cars should be pretty close.
I remember running an older m3 with my 99 when it was near stock. Not sure what he had for mods but we were pretty even. He was cagey but doubt his car was bone stock. I think his year had like 330 engine hp rated?
They are pretty nice cars no shame in losing to one.

The E46 M3s (all 333hp) would run about even with stock LS1s, even with their torque defecit. So while the V8 ones are still a little down on torque, don't count them out. They still run mid 12s, from what I've read.

Mid 12s like an f-body runs high 12s, or mid 12s as the norm?

Not sure... quick search yielded Road and Track running a 12.5 @ 114.8mph. So it's definitely going to take an F-body full bolt-ons atleast to run with one.
