Racing a shelby... I was going to do a quarter mile with a guy I know he has a 07 shelby gt 500... He says he is running 13.8 on the quarter..and yes he is serious. He told me he has seen cars like mine, 2000 camaro ls1 a4 lid catback, free ram air mod, throttle bypass, 2.73 gears... doing 15's. WHAT??.... I live in Arizona down by SIR in Tucson. I wanted to take it out and see how she does. Am I going to do 15's? How should I launch?.... This will be the first time will somebody explain how start up at the line. At what RPM should bring it too? Yes I know I will not win...

If you notice the WHAT??? I know from reading posts that my car is capable of doing 13's, In most areas of the country, however, I do live in a hot climate and don't know if heat plays that much of a factor in a race.

I know how much it sucks but right now I'm living in a country like that. Here's in Guam there are about three or four GT500 car owners. All of which run about that time and most 500HP cars without DR's are seeing mid low 14's all day long. 13 sec cars are mid high 14's and so forth. It sucks but I personally have been fighting it foe some time now.
