So there is this kid who of course doesn't have his own car but is talking a big game about his "friends" car. It's a talon and he's being pretty shady about what it's got. It all started when he said AWD is the greatest drive train ever, I'll out launch any RWD car etc etc etc blah blah typical ricer crap. I said I could give him a run for his money and then he just got ignorant. Typical kid talking crap about a car he doesn't own. Anyway, is there any worry here?

It really depends on the engine he has, and how much boost he is pushing. Thosecars are fast, but they usually dont have the drive axles to run more than 500 whp, without failure. I would not worry though, because the kid talking crap probably doesnt know what it has in it, and he has heard his buddy talking about beating Camaros and Firebirds that were stock.
I had this kid who worked with me, he had a well built Honda, and he blew past me on the four lane, the next day he came to work talking about how he dusted my mustang with his civic. Well my daily driver at the time was a 92 mustang coupe, four cylinder five speed. Both of my coupes were red, with black interior, the only indication tht one was a four was the 315 rears on my v8 car. Well he run his mouth for about two weeks, and then I drove ol Paint to work, manowar aluminum 427, 6 speed 60 mm turbo, four wheel disc, full Griggs suspension. I told him to line it up after work, and we would see. Ol paint was built to road race, but when I fired it up, he backed down and admitted to everyone he beat my four cylinder car. But I wanted to show him how fast she was. I waxed his *** from the line to 145, and then backed out of it. He never had a chance, even with the boost, and the coffee can exhaust tip. So do some research, and find out if the car is bad fast or he is just talking smack, then run him. May be add a little spray for the top end.

I like a lot of these guys have seen my fair share of awesome DSM cars. Like others have already said anything starting with the "friend" is already a joke. Then again,I've seen it setup like that on purpose too. I'd say go with your game face on and if you can see if you can talk to the owner instead of the friend.

there is a red talon from where im from and its ***** out best pass iv seen from it is a 9.0xx. get on youtube and look up 502 undergrounds The Red Rocket. but it dont see the street much at all. id say bust this dudes friends cars *** and take his money!

Coming from a DSM background, there are very few 9.XX DSM cars out there and only like 2 16G's into the 9's. I highly doubt he is even into the 11's more likely a low 12 with that turbo unless he is using two power adders or has huge weight reduction.

This whole thread seems pointless?

I mean I figure if you even have a car that runs 9's you;d have a pretty good amount of knowledge about vehicles and such. I mean if your smart enough to build a 9second car then you should know your ****. Unless you bought the car that way and your dad has a big wallet?

Possibly the OP is just a dreamer and wants to be "cool"

I think the original poster is kidding . I have a supertalon! fully built 2.4 litre with big garett around 650 hp potential at max boost. It likely could run 9s at about 140 mph. I haven't tracked it yet. Not driving it been concentrating on my other projects mainly my 99 ta.

9 second talons are possible but pretty rare. A 16g can do 11s high 11s usually is about it. Its not a very big turbo. About 400 engine hp max power.
To get more have to go to bigger stuff..50 trims can do around 500 engine hp range and then stuff like GT35R can do 700 and there are still bigger but the huge turbos get pretty laggy on the small 2.0 ,2.3 or 2.4 engines.
I even find my current one a bit big.

I for sure wouldn't be fearing too many cars if you can do what you said in the sig.

But the awd part was true. A talon on street tires can get some amazing 60fts like 1.6 no problem. And talking pure street tires not drag radials.
I think talon 60ft bests on race type tires are like a 1.2. I love awd ,its great in snow, rain ,and I can waste most normal rwd or front wheel drive cars really badly off the lights and everywhere if they aren't on drag radials.
