OP - I'd give the nod to you in the majority of races. Unless you are a very crappy driver and he isn't.

It could be very close. You should win from a roll (he should still be close), but if he's a good driver those 3.73s should help him from a dig. He definitely should have gotten 4.30s though...

You SHOULD beat him. One thing im curious on though, you say you have a H pipe? Not a Y pipe or a X pipe.. but a H pipe?? Anyways.. if you do have headers, you have the upper hand. Race him till a top end speed like 130 or 140, you WILL beat him then, they can't pull as hard as a ls1 up top there. From a dig to like 90 it might be close, but to 130 or something you'll have him by about 2-4cars easy. I've raced a few cobras before my cam in those years, and my friend has a white 99 also.

The mods he has isn't really conducive to waking the car up. You should spank him pretty good unless you can't drive. The 4V's need a 4.10 gear at minimum but work best with 4.30's and 4.56's. I would get spanked in both Cobras until I put in the 4.30's and full bolt ons. Once that occurred, the playing field was a bit more level until they had bolt ons You should be good to go.
93 Cobra-Fox Body
94-98 Cobra- SN95
99-04 Cobra- New Edge

Cause if so, you would be incorrect. blackfang broke it down for you.

Agreed. I ran mid 13's stock in my 99 and 13.8 in my 97 with a shifter and mufflers. The 99's can be tough to get a decent time due to the launch and the crappy IRS.

I actually like the Sn95s more than the New edges. It's the hood of the new edges that deters me. I like them, but that 'sixxer' looking hood turns me off. I'd take a 96-98.

Here is my last Cobra I sold in October for another bike, plus I couldn't justify modding the car along with my Z28.
Full bolt ons w/ 4.30's and it hung with a few light modded LS1's

VERY nice cobra. I dont' like the black bullits on too many stangs (I see them every where), but I like that setup. I also like the Cobra R rims on the SN95s. THere's a yellow one for sale about 3 hours north of me. Guy wants $4500. Wish I could get it.

Thanks. I hate the Cobra R's because 95% of the cobra's have them and they are over played. I noticed not many Black Cobras had the Bullitts when I got them and wanted to be different.

I've been surprised by too many Mustangs to complete brush them off. A friend of mine had a backfiring and ticking '96 Cobra that ran 13.6s with an H-pipe, flows, ghetto CAI and 3.73s. I think running tip top it would've snagged low 13s. On the highway, I'd walk him like he was on the brakes. We never ran them from a dig.
Almost got to duel with a kid in a thugged out '01 Cobra, but we lined up right next to a cop and politely parted ways. I've always been a big SVT fan and wouldn't underestimate that one.
