I know it's not an LSx, but this is the Dyno and Bench Racing forum, and videos are fun to watch no matter what the subject, so what the hell!
My Mach 1 getting it's final street tune after major build up last winter.

you cant run as much boost. in theory yea a 10:1 engine with less boost will make the same power but it doesnt work that way. the flame front over the piston is different and makes it more prone to detonation.

Well, now that the motor has about 4k miles on it, I'm going to take it back this fall and have a meth injection system added, and a re-tune. This time they're going to be a little more aggressive and seriously shoot for that 550rwhp.
Right now it's in my garage getting a radiator upgrade. I neglected to anticipate the effects of the summer heat, and had a few scary moments this summer when the coolant temperatures started to go critical! Putting in a 2-row Fluidyne, and hopefully that will take care of those issues.

the Cobras, you'll need to tap into the lower intake manifold and mount
the meth nozzles in it. You don't want to spray through the blower since
it's essentially useless that way. I'm sure you know that already.
BTW, the car sounds wicked in the vid.

Not to mention race gas is expensive!

110. I guess it's better than the alternative.

I have to be missing something or suffering from a severe brain fart.

Why would you need meth inj. to hit 550rwhp? Why not just up the boost and tune it from there? I'm not in depth familiar with teh aluminator motor, but I would suspect 600rwhp would be fine without the need for meth. I know a forged internal mach motor can.

At 16+ lbs. of boost, which is closing in on it's maximum, reliable limit, (think warranty issues w/KB!) this thing starts to run really warm, ok, HOT, and it adversely affects the intake charge temperatures, even with the intercooler.
In cold weather, probably not a big deal, but above 80 degrees in the summer, it starts to get noticable.
Then there's the octane lowering of pump gas around here. It's slid from 94 to 91 over the past couple of years, and methanol will help with that too, plus the fact it's rather inexpensive to purchase and install, I figured, why not?

You gotta remember, this is a small(ish) 2.1L blower, not a 2.6 or 2.8, where you have more boost options available!
