stock ls1 vs 300zx twin turbo

alright my lacrosse coach wants to race according to my friends. i havent seen his car in a year and i never saw under the hood or anything. not sure on his mods.
i have an A4 w/ mild shift kit and thats it lol.
hes a 5 speed. he said i would get him from a dig he would get me on the highway. i dont know **** about imports so whatya guys think?
all my friends were giving him **** because they all think my car will rape his but thats just because they havent riden in anything faster than my car. and my car is slow.
i think it would be a close race.

well stock 300zxtt make about 280hp on a usdm tune..if you put the jdm tune in it its a tad bit over 300..
stock for stock youll rape him..if hes modded..and you only having a shift kit...itll be close

If he is stock it won't even be a race..
A buddy ran one a LONG time ago when his old Z was stock..
Mods....
ls6 intake cutout lid free mods 273s
300Z mods- exhaust intake and boost turned up (not sure exactly what all else was done has been a LONG time now... 300Z is one of the best drivers I have ever seen in my entire life... Not being sarcastic.. I know he had quite a bit more mods than the average tuner)
Went from a dig.. ls1 got him by about 2 lengths to 85-90... Then he hit 3rd gear and bogged BADLY cause of the 273s and the 300Z passed him up and put about half a length on him when he let out at 125...
The Z said if they stayed in it any longer that he would have got raped cause he has nothing after that..

yeah me to..if its been tuned hes looking at ~320hp and hes got shorter gears than you so he'll prolly accelerate a tad faster...im not sure tho im not into 300zx' that much

I'm bolt-ons and my buddy recently picked up a stock 300zxTT and it wasn't even fun by the time we hit 80, from a 30mph dig.. He does plan to mod it though and once he can keep even with me I'll start filming some races.

I've read stock 300zxTT'z are mid-low 14's anyways, so a stock LS1 (auto) shouldn't have a problem with decent street tires, considering there's no driver error.

Just don't go from a 40mph roll, the trans will usually not downshift and therefore you lose valuable lengths right off the bat. Ask him if he wants to race once from a dig, then once from like 20-25mph roll.

I wouldn't be quite so confident. I have owned (2) 300ZX TT's and the slower of the 2 (which was only "lightly modified") ran mid-high 12s all day long. A stock TT is definitely NOT a 14 sec car (unless the person can't drive). Not saying you wont beat him, but don't take it for granted.

Put the shifter in 'D'...NOT 'OD'... and the pedal to the metal!

hahaha yeah i know to put it in D and im pretty sure we will do a dig and slow roll and then on the highway. i have 3.23 gears so should i drop it into 2nd if we are doin a roll somewhere around 30mph?

The thing that worries me about that list is that 615cc injectors are HUGE (as in overkill) for a stock engine. I would be willing to bet he has a few other things as well including (among other things) exhaust and a fairly aggressive tune. Either that or he has absolutely no idea what he's doing in terms of mods...

The first run is from about 40mph (dead spot for an A4). Like I said, as long as you're at least a decent driver, you should be fine (just don't expect to run away from him).
