REMATCH! 2001 Camaro Z28 vs 1996 Mustang GT Well I got a friend with a 96 Mustang GT. We did tons of runs when he was just exhaust only. & of course I WALKED him. 
But now he just recently finished up on his build. I've raced plenty of Mustangs with my car & I feel that this run should be a pretty close one. But I think I'll beat him. He is determined that he will kill my Camaro. Somewhere he thinks with a tune he should be pushing out 330 hp & around 370 with new injectors & some other ****. I keep telling him he needs LONG TUBES! Hes bought a total of 4 shorty headers? What you guys think.... 
1996 Mustang GT mods: 5 speed, 2001 GT ported PI heads, PI intake manifold, Stage 2 comp cams, Ford Racing shorty headers, stock gears, stock tires. (untuned)
My Camaro mods: M6, Borla exhaust, SLP lid. Dyno 323 hp & 337 lbtq on a dynojet with just the exhaust.

If he did LTs and got a tune, and got some 4.10s in that car (it REALLY needs them with those cams) I would put money on him from a dig. As-is, I think you have him. From a dig it will be close, but you should pull past before the 1/4.

At his current power level, the stock 8.8 should be just fine. A new gearset (4.10s fa sho) should be golden.

Well we ran last night... Were only able to do one run. But haha I WIN! Just like I said. 
Ill give the full story though. He hasn't raced in a while since his car been down for couple months & well lets face it you don't race a stock 96 GT So his experience in racing is pretty slim. After the race of me walking away he said he "wasn't ready & was in 3rd gear" 
So I had continued to tell him that he was the who pulled up next to me, asked if I wanted to go? slowed down, downshifted couple times, when i downshifted I fell back a little because I was in 1st gear so I caught back up to him at 40 and I honked it 3 times???
All that was like 10 seconds. & if you cant get in the right gear within 10 seconds COME ON... Were going to do a rematch to "clear" everything. & we had made a bet earlier that whoever wins buys a pizza. 
So he pretty much already owes me one. Because "winning is winning" not my fault he doesn't know what gear to be in at 40mph.
& just for the record.... Our friend in his Termi behind us even said I pulled hard on him, it wouldn't even matter.
