This dude I work with just purchased a 99 cobra with cold air and flomasters, make a long story short he tells me he'd mop the floor with my 99 z28 mods are slp lid and filter slp loud mouth exhaust ls6 intake, only thing is mines an auto his is a five speed but he won't race me to find out. Maybe he is faster? I just hate how he's always putting ls1down. Anyone ever race this year of cobra? Iv heard that was a bad year for them.

He's telling me because my car has an at an his is a five speed that I wouldn't have a chance..I thint the ls1 with at are pretty impressive myself. Anyone here ever use a cx racing turbo? If so are they good?

My 98 TA with a lid and loudmouth exhaust walked a bolt on 99 Cobra by about 2 lengths.. That has been YEARS ago but IIRC he had full exhaust, CAI, tune... Might have been some other small things.

I have no idea to tell you the truth all I know is that they was over rated on hp and the heads was supposed to have been robbing the engine of power so svt recalled the car to put these new heads on, that's what I've been told by him anyway, I've not researched it yet but he claims his car dynoed at 335 whp..I found that hard to believe myself.

Dude, I wouldn't worry about it, and his car does not make 335 rwhp...trust me lol! Those cars stock were around 270 rwhp, and with FULL bolt ons and a great tune 320 rwhp max. He might be 280-290 if he is lucky. I'll be surprised if you don't win this one

With somebody talking junk like that a five speed will be a disadvantage. He won't know how to launch it worth a ****. Just line up, stall it up a bit and launch. He will be playing catch up.

He told me today that there was no need to race cuz he already knows his ***** faster lol he says he's already beat several ls1s. Boy's smoking crack or is just full of ****? Lol.

idk what else you want us to say lol your car makes more whp stock than his could with full bolt ons. you should kick the crap out of him. My buddy walked one with a 5 spd all while his z28 being a stock auto with 3 people in the car, the cobra at least had an exhaust

I had a 99 cobra and I had beat my friends auto z28 a few times. Your camaro should be able to take one especially from a dig just depends on you. I say you about 1-1/2 cars.

Look in my started threads... i have video of me skull ******* a lite bolt on cobra.

Granted my 02 has walked full exhaust/cam only/etc ls cars and the 5.0 that is recording behind us.. But it gives you a good idea how slow they are.
