Default 2012 GT500 vs CTSV..whatcha think?

Figured I would get some unbiased(on ls1tech?) opinions.

Working up a race with a bolton/cammed CTSV automatic with 606rwhp.
My car just had Ford Racing TVS and 65mm throttlebody installed. I am still running stock injectors, stock maf/cold air, and full bone stock exhaust, cats included.
With a safe tune that tapers to 10.5:1 a/f after 5000rpm, the car made 635rwhp sae corrected.

CTSV curb weight is 4300lbs and from what I have heard, he has done no weight reduction.

My car was scale weighed at 3800lbs.

So, more power and 500lb weight advantage..but he has automatic.

We will be doing 40-140 rolls. They want to run for money...because they think I am still mid 500s pulley/tune only. I dont want to race for money, as it takes all the fun out of it for me. And if they insist and I win, I would probably give their money back to them.

So what does LS1TECH think about the outcome? As we all know, GT500s are only good for high 12s.

Sadly enough, I think you should have him. What year ctsv? Hopefully you can bang through those gears without missing. Lol

the outcome is that you will probably win the race if you dont miss a shift. the winner though is the person who spent the least amount of $$ to go fast.love Ford posts on a GM site!!

Nah.. i dont think its about the money. I just like it because it is fun. I shouldnt have an issue with missed shifts.. but anything can happen.

Wrong.. I am an active member here, and am not a Ford only person. I have love towards GM vehicular transportation units too.

That would be a guaranteed lose for me with my current tire setup. Maybe later when I get decent tire put on my 15x10 racestars. 20" drag radials on my car are useless in 1st gear. I would do a dig for the fun of it, but not for money. They want to roll too though.

That is what I am thinking is possible. But they honestly think I only have pulley/tune like I had at a dyno day up that way. The dyno operator is friends with the ctsv owner and saw my setup. Thats why they think they have it in the bag. They dont know I am bringing a TVS to the table

I think you'd have the win from 40-140 if you hook well.

And who gives a rats *** if other than GM cars are in this section.

Thanks for the honest opinion.

And I agree.. do former owners count? I have owned a Trans Am. And I miss it.
