Default Budget and 1/4 mile time

Hey guys

Within the next year I would like to get a ws6 and do not want it to be stock. I am debating on a few different cars and cost is a big factor.

I am looking for a streetable car that runs mid 12's and would like to get a mods list going

This is what I came up with so far...

Car-$14000
Lid-$100
Fast intake manifold with TB-$900
Headers all the way back- $1500
Subframe connectors (bolt in) $350
drag radials- $800
9 in rear end (needed at this stage?) $1100
M6 transmission (factory)

Total of $18750

Does this budget seem close to accurate? What would this 1/4 mile time look like?
Thanks

Skip on the fast intake... The ls6 intake should be good on any set up for a while. If you get a 01-02 the car will come with it stock.

Save the money and invest in a n2o system.

List looks good. I agree with getting an LS6 intake. Add gears to the list if you skip upgrading the rear end.

A new 9" rear is $2500-3500 depending on options chosen and not really necessary unless you plan racing at a track with slicks, and the Fast intake is a waste on a stock heads/cam ls1

Im surprised no one has asked why youre spending 14k on the car? It it super low mileage I guess? Personally Id buy when of the many nearly immaculate f-bodies that can be had for under 10k with under 100k miles, and some with all the mods you listed already done.

Get the fast skip the sub frame connectors. Put a good light weight clutch in it and practice til you run 11's with bolt-ons.

To run mid 12's you could skip the fast and 9 inch rear, do the rest of the mods you mentioned along with a sticky tire....then mid 12's should be right there

If you get an 01-02 , I think some good tires should get you pretty close. This slip is from my 01 WS6 bone stock with bald street tires.

why are you spending 14k on a ws6? plenty can be had for 10k or even less with decent mileage.

also if the car is a 98-00 i would get an ls6 only if you never plan to do a cam. if its an 01-02 keep the ls6 until you do a cam then get a fast. reason being is ls6 intakes are getting way to pricey. for just a few hundred more you can do a fast setup and have the potential to make more power with later mods.

Buy a car already built. Will save you a lot of money.
