Default HP & Track time guesses on this setup

I'm wondering what HP you guys think this motor would put out, assuming I bought it as is and did not upgrade any of the parts or components.

http://www.thompsonmotorsports.net/p...roducts_id=225

Next, assuming I put this into my car, what would your track time guesses be?

Info on my car: stock T56,373's catback exhaust, long tubes, lid, little suspension work and of course assuming the motor above is installed.

Thanks guys for any opinions, my goal is 450+ RWHP, and i'm not sure this motor as is would get me there with the head choices listed. I also plan on maybe adding n2o later down the road, would be a small shot if anything prolly 125 or less.

I know we've discussed this a little so you know some of my thoughts. I run those same 862 heads they are advertising but with a different cam. I bet that combo does pretty good for what it is

yeah I appreciate everything you have told me, for me this amount of investment is a lot, so I'm just trying to gather as many opinions as I can. Since we talked via PM's I have changed my mind on the 500 RWHP and decided a streetable 450 RWHP would be more fun for me. So a torquey 450 sounds right up my ally rather than shooting for what seems to a harder task of 500 at the wheels. with that being said, I wouldn't complain if i ended up with 500 hehe

Sounds like a solid idea to me. The amount of money you'd have to spend for that extra 50 hp could be spent elsewhere...even a nitrous kit lol. Then you could hit it with a huge bump in power when needed

Let me first ask what intake and exhaust will you be running? What specs on the cam and what will be the compression?

well I'm assuming I'll be running an ls6 intake at first unless i find a good deal on a fast intake. compression will prolly be around the same as your assuming the same heads are used. so i would figure 11:0.1 - 11:5.1 cam specs im not sure on I figured i would have them custom grind something that is streetable but i want to hear the cam also. exhaust will be 1 3/4 long tubes through a corsa 3" catback. This will be for a t56 car with a monster lvl 2.

I see no reason why you shouldn't hit 450 rwhp with a setup like that...especially with a 408

I'd ask Kyle at TMS what he thinks, but with that build it should have great power under the curve and be pretty damn fast for a budget HCI build. I know when I went to my 370 from my old 346 I noticed I nice jump in midrange torque. With a 408 it will only be even better

well, I'm not going to place my order until around the beginning of summer maybe end of spring, so I'll see what my budget allows for come that time. Maybe i'll decide to spend a little more on the heads to push me towards that 500 mark. either way, i really don't think I can go wrong
